Annual salaries offered to high school juniors (not a typo!) taking shop classes. Companies with skilled-worker shortages are recruiting at secondary schools. Employers say that as the skilled trades become more tech-infused, they anticipate doing more early recruitment to snag people who are comfortable programming and running computer diagnostics.

The decrease in U.S. drug-overdose deaths in 2024, according to preliminary CDC data. The large drop is a promising sign amid a national fentanyl crisis that’s increased drug-related deaths in recent years. Last year’s roughly 80,000 deaths fell close to levels not seen since before the Covid-19 pandemic, which exacerbated the country’s drug-overdose crisis.

I would think that the availability and easy access to Narcan has probably also contributed to the decrease.

Until last night when the Pacers beat that number last night and beating the Knicks at MSG.

The cost of the Liberty Phone, which is assembled in the U.S. using parts from the U.S., China and other countries. The device shows it is possible to build a smartphone in the U.S. right now, but it won’t be as sleek or as powerful as an iPhone, and it will cost a lot more.
