Good Saturday Afternoon to All! It's been raining on and off most of the day. We got up a 0500 to drive to a benchrest match near Orangeburg, SC. Mrs. Gene came in third I was fourth. We had a great time shooting between rain showers.

Without taking my shoes off or dropping my pants, I can count to 9.75 due to a home improvement project many years ago that resulted in losing nearly half a thumb. It wasn't lost forever. Maybe I should say it was "misplaced" since it was found the next day in the neighbor's basement where I was using the table saw.

I still have a slice of the wood trim I was cutting on my key chain as a reminder to not disable safety guards on table saws. That is one day that would (or is it wood?) have been a positive thing... put down the wood and drink a beer. Doing so might have saved a body part.

Neighbor: Want a beer?
Me: Let me rip this piece of wood first, then I'll have a beer.

Zing! Part of my thumb launches over my shoulder and off to the ER we go.

Early Sunday morning, rain has passed and we have clear skies here in north central MA. Currently a bit cool in the mid 50° F but supposed to warm up to the mid 60's.
