Got a good rain in today. Supposed to rain on and off through Monday. Bout 1 1/4 inches in total.

We'll get back to it on Sunday. Try to work on things in between rains.

Right now, loving the temps and the rest.

Check in. Check out.

Forecast for tomorrow is calling for gray day with on and off rain.

Sounds like a good day to make a beef pot roast in the crock pot. When I make one, I'm attracted to a Mississippi pot roast. Google it, it's easy and yummy.

Chuck roast (or what ever cut you prefer)
1 packet ranch dressing mix
1 packet au jus gravy mix
1/4 cup butter cut into slices and just toss them on the beef
4-5 pepperoncini peppers and toss then on the beef - sometimes I toss on some cherry peppers depending on what jar is open in the fridge.

Put it in the crock pot, sprinkle it with the ranch dressing mix and gravy mix

Don't add any water or broth to it. It will make enough liquid as it cooks. With that said, I sometimes toss in some pickle juice for some liquid.

If wanted, quarter up some potatoes (I use yellow or red taters with the skins on), toss in some carrots for a bed for the meat to rest on about an hour or two before it's done

Let it cook low and slow then chow down.

Not to make light of your friend’s passing but when I read your post, I immediately thought of Yogi Berra’s quote:

“You should always go to other people's funerals; otherwise, they won't come to yours.”

Cloudy, 60, turning to 74 and a 50/50 sun clouds mix.

Also trying to find that same healthy mix of getting stuff done and having some fun.

Wife and I used to have balance if our lives. We had family too. Not so much anymore.

Yeah I could go fishing or hiking today, but this time of year I'm always sore and tired. My hands are sore & swollen, my shoulder blades hurt etc.

So on my day off I kinda like to do nothing most of the time. Eat a big meal and recover.

It's not like this in the late fall and winter, but that's also the time when the fish aren't biting.

So we're @ extremes here. Spring and summer are a blur, not much real fun to be had; winters are boring.

Ultimately though, I have to admit, it is a rewarding lifestyle, just not exciting. I look how this place was almost 4 yrs ago, and how it is now...

What a turnaround.

This was a great day. Did the regular stuff in the morning. Got on the roof again to blow off all the oak tree crap and clear the gutter.

Fixed the patio heater heat reflector. Then it was off to lunch with my wife.

Fun little, slightly pricey by Wisconsin standards brunch place, followed up with a stop at a new gelato shop.

Cocktails on the deck and now a little tv.

Was nice to see her have fun for more than a few minutes at a time. Am seeing similarities in her that matched mine four years ago. Encouraging her to put a hard stop working past 50 hours a week. It is being taken under advisement.
