Steve- Speak for your self. I have been a kicker in the NFL.

Well, sort of. True story- Me and a friend mine once convinced a couple of girls in a bar that I was the placekicker for the Rams (this was when they were in Anaheim). I almost pulled a hammie that night. LMAO!

You were supposed to let the girls pull your hammie...

Steve, if what you said is true regarding well developed hamstrings pulling easier, then that explains why I've never pulled one.

Sorry, I bleed green and silver.

But, I've also fallen victim to countless pulled hamstrings. I've played soccer my entire life, right through D1 college. There was never a time throughout the year that I wasn't playing, and my legs were always pretty well conditioned. I stretched them multiple times a day, but still managed to pull at least one hamstring per season, it seemed. According to my doctor, it was because they were 'too' developed, making them far tighter than normal. Sometimes, they wouldn't tear...rather, they'd pull the growth plate right off my hip. That always felt good.

Being a 20 year season ticket holder, I have seen kickers come and go. David Akers is a step above the rest.

If you've ever watched him on kickoffs, you'd see that he doesn't "lay back" waiting for someone else to make the tackle. He goes all out, and has put some pretty good hits on people. He's not your typical "pansy" kicker.

GO BIRDS!

Watch Adam Vinatieri some time.

That's what it looks like when a Football Player does the kicking.

He's a sure thing future hall of famer based on his game winning clutch kicks.

But my all time favorite moment happened in Dallas.

It was in 1996, and we made the trip to Texas Stadium.

The game was very close, and on a kickoff following a Vinatieri fieldgoal late in the game, Herschel Walker broke free from the pack.

Our KICKER didn't simply tackle Herschel Walker.

He caught him from behind!!

I can't even imaging what Akers would have pulled on that play...
