I removed my youngest child from my insurance policy today.. I had been pondering this move for awhile Now... Mrs. Hog has been trying to tell me not to do so... but I don't listen very well sometimes...

I had been recently informed from my daughter that I was a deadbeat Dad in her book.. I never once missed a child support payment and faught in court until my funds ran out for my visitation rights which I never got? So I left my children with an open door policy.. I told each of them that my door and my heart would always be open to them.. it wasn't until my Son's accident that I seen it wasn't my heart nor my door my youngest was interested in.. it was my wallet (Just like her Mother) So with her dropping out of College and her recent actions towards myself and new Family... I see no reason to carry her any longer on my insurance policy...

Hog, those decisions are very difficult. It sounds like perhaps she has a bit of her mother's temperment. Someday she may come around, but there is no sense in beating a dead horse and giving to someone who only wants to take. You can still love her and pray for her, which I know you will.

Good move, Hog. I'd do the same thing.

I especially like your open door, open heart policy.

"You can still love her and pray for her"

This will always be Daily... but for the most part, I think doing what I have done and the letters I am writing to all my children will give them a reality check if nothing else?

I cannot believe how my two daughters have acted, especially my oldest for that matter...

I consider myself blessed that my one and only marriage has lasted and that my son and I are pretty close.

You must be pretty torn up, bro. As long as you did all you could, and it sounds like you have, hold your head up high and hope that eventually she will come around.

Tough tough decisions, and days. Only you can know what best to do. And it sounds like you're doing it. Our thoughts are with you as you work through it. Keep remembering prayer is not just a mind exercise, He really does intervene in our lives in response to our prayers.
