I think E meant in this thread, your right he was in the TV thingy. There are so many moments with TW that just saying his name makes me nostalgic.

He was a baseball moment, just longer than most....

Soul, what a list of "moments", you left off Daryl Strawberry having a sure out to the warning track bounce out of his glove and into the seats in Texas for a homerun!

Strawberry's helping the drugged out lady of the night find a hotel room (he just happened to stay in it with her)

Dave Stewart "picking up" the transvestite cross dancer and then banging the hell out of "him" with his fists!

Billy Martin punching out the marshmellow saleman in Minneapolis.

Phil Linz harmonica incident!

Black Sox scandal of 1919!

Jim Crow laws/Judge Kennesaw Landis keeping blacks out of baseball until 1947!

Albert Belle, corked bat incident, chasing trick or treaters in his car, throwing baseball at a fan and hitting him in the chest! Belle was a bad apple in general!

Marge Schott and her Hitler had some good ideas speech!

"Commissoner" Bud Selig-everything about him is bad!

Yes, baseball has its bad moments, but they pale in comparision to other major sports especially NBA and the Grand Larceny riddled NFL!

In my opinion, the greatest moment in Baseball was the moment that Pete Rose was announced as one of the greatest moments. The ovation that he received made my eyes tear up. One of the greatest virtues in life is forgiveness. Pete's being able to come out and be a part of the event was a very touching moment. Sorry. I was just really touched by it.

Soulie,

I couldn't have come up with a better list. How about adding in:

Ty Cobb's daily sharpening of his cleats in front of the opposing team.

5 cent Beer night riot at old Cleveland Stadium

Any pitch by Sal "The Barber" Maglie (for SteveS)

Who was that whose bat broke and had superballs all over the infield?

The batted ball that killed a bird at Toronto Skydome

And the pitched ball by Randy Johnson that killed a bird.

Tarheel, if Pete would apologize for betting on baseball, all would be forgiven and he would be accepted back into baseball(and the hall of fame).
