I am sure my muslim rantings will have the threads hitting the hundred's soon enough.

So, ... Let's talk about something less controversial.

What About Mutual Funds?

What's your favorite Bond Fund?

Bond Fund: PIMCO Total Return

(With interest rates rising, Bond funds in the United States are a bit dicey right now.)

Stock Fund: T Rowe Price Emerging Europe & Mediterranean

(This fund is heavy in Russia, Turkey, and Egypt with a little of Israel and Hungary thrown in as well. It is high risk/high reward. The Egyptian markets have been making a killing this year!)

The Pimco fund has over 80 billion in assests ... isn't that heavy? I know it is for a stock fund.

Thanks for the tip, . . . Now, how about a Mid-Cap Value or a Mid-Cap Blend? ha . . .

PIMCO is the bond-master! You can't really flood a bood fund with too much money. If the timing is bad, they'll just hold it as cash. Small and midcap stock funds can get flooded and have to close to new investors.

T Rowe Price has many very good funds. They're pretty high on the honesty scale as well based on the recent hedge fund market timing issues some of the fund companies ran into.

Mid Cap Blend: as soon as you said "blend", I start thinking index fund like "MDY" the Mid-Cap SPDR. It is the S&P Mid-Cap 400.

Mid Cap Value: One I like is Lord Abbett Mid Cap Value but some of its classes have a front load and I think the fund is closed anyway.

T Rowe Price has very good Mid Cap Growth and Mid Cap Value funds but they're both closed. They may have opened new similar funds that wouldn't quite have the historical track record but could be good.

I have a Nueberger Berman Genisis Mid Cap Growth that is closed. Fidelity Low Price Stock Mid Cap Blend that is closed, and I am keeping a wary eye on that one, and there is Wells Fargo Small Cap Value Z Class that is closed too . . . I am looking to compliment my Large Cap Growth Fidelity Contra Fund with either another Large Cap Value or Blend, and "possibly" considering a replacement for the Fidelity Low Price Stock fund as it is approaching a whopping $40 Billion in assets, which seems bloated for a small-mid cap . . . I am eyeballing that Pimpco fund you mentioned, but for now, I have settled on Fidelity US Bond Index Fund . . . Thanks for the info.
