Anyone with a good method to convert them to CD? The Nugent post got me thinking.

I would think .... transfer them to cassette and then hook up cassette to computer input speakers and burn em onto a cd

I am sure this can be done,... but as to the logistics of it I have no knowledge

I have an old AM/FM 8track cassette receiver in my garage.. I recorded all my old 8tracks onto cassettes

I still have the 8 tracks and pop em into the player once in a while to keep the wheels turning

Bassdude.....convert them to .wav files, and then convert to Mp3.

Myself and Hog had a discussion about this a year ago or so. I was doing all my cassettes, and then started working on my LP's. Unfortunately, I have gotten nowhere on my LP's since I've been gone for about 3 months.

If you are interested in doing it that way, I can talk you through it.....I'll also try to find that thread.

Just curious if the tape it's self is still holding up? It is rather old by now and wondering what it's quality is by now ? . . .

I loved 8tracks. Especially when you are dozing off listening to pink floyd....almost asleep.... then..... **CRACK** the chanel changes scaring the hell out of you.

Ahhh good times. (Maybe I just had a cheap Midland player 🙂

adroomi, were you able to successfully eliminate the tape noise?

I'd just go out and download someone else's MP3's of your 8-tracks. You have already purchased the right to "use" the recording. JM2C.
