I have a Motorola V550 phone, Cingular is my provider.

Just bought a bluetooth adapter for my laptop with the intention of using it to connect via cellphone.

The software for the bluetooth crap is called "bluesoleil".

I am able to tranfer files, etc from my phone, but cannot use it to dial up.

The software and phone manuals are crap.

Can anyone help?

The problem with cell phone companies today is that they block out certain features on their phones. Sometimes is the ability to download music and sometimes it's the using of a feature that the phone has but they limit it.

Andy here is a link to a website that I've used in the past for help on cell phones. Here is a direct link to somebody's question regarding the bluetooth adapter thing.

Below the question are two replies but there are about 38 pages of questions just for your phone. I know that the forum that you'll be reading is for the Moto V551 but you're phone is in the same category. Hope you find some useful info.

Boofa,

got this worked out. It wasn't easy though. After about a day of pissing around, I finally "obtained" a copy of Motorola's Mobile Tools software.

From there it was pretty simple.

So the moral of the story is; for $20 and some free software, I can now connect to the internet at 115kbps ANYWHERE thru my cellphone!

I dunno tarheel.....I'm not much of a phone guy. Its just that I HAVE to carry it for work, so I asked for a pretty good one and make the best ot it.

If your phone is bluetooth enabled, you can do what I did.

If it is NOT, you can still connect via data cable.

Most plans probably charge for internet time. I don't know if mine does or not. If I get any flack, I'll gladly allow them to take my phone away.
