Who would hold up Castro as a role model but that Ole-Time Red Apologist himself: comrad Rick. Well, there's no Commie stooge like an old...well, you know.

In Canada for instance, a proud, social-welfare state, their own Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin recently said, “Access to a waiting list is not access to health care.” The stories of Canadians coming to the US for treatment of life threatening illnesses are legion. They'd rather not wait in line while dying.

Sorry, comrad Rick, socialism doesn't work on any level other than perfidious treachery, but dream on. We love watching the old guard fade away.

That's a black or white fallacy. The state of Hawaii also has a state run healthcare system, it didn't ruin Hawaii, a very prosperous state. The state of Oregon has a healthcare system highly regulated by the state, I don't see Oregon falling apart. Having to wait in line for healthcare sucks, but is thousands of percent better than having none at all, which is the case with about 17% of Americans, most of which are young working families; i.e, the working class. The poor are covered under Medicaid.

I don't see old people in America who have Medicare coverage dying in droves while waiting in line, they have socialized health care, don't they?

It's not so much an economic question as a moral one. Are the only people entitled to healthcare those who can pay for it? That's an immoral choice. We need a healthcare system for all Americans, not just some.

What if our legal system was structured like this? (not that it isn't most of the time).

The Prepaid Healthcare Act (PPHCA) was enacted in Hawaii in 1974.

The census data on the state of Hawaii has the population at 0.770 million in 1970, with 1.212 million in 2000, and increase of 57%, in contrast to your claim of a reduction in population by a similar amount.

Just think, if folks were departing, as Drathaar is suggesting, housing would be way more affordable, and all those drunken houlis wouldn't be swerving all over the roads in their Cadillacs.

I have 3 young men from Hawaii loading my machines all night, every night. Not the same 3 every day. They left the warm rain in Hawaii for the cold rain in Washington for a job. The West Coast is laoded with Hawaiians with the same story. Why are jobs so hard to find in Hawaii? One reason is people emmigrate there in droves. Which explains the housing problem.

Now to the point, medical. It's another tax on business, one that will keep employers from employing. Sorry to ruin your day Dr Pepper, but socialized healthcare is not all sunshine and roses.

there is a little more to it than that, the cost of live'n the fact the there is not enough homes to go around, wages are very low so most people have more than one job or the live as multi families do and share every thing. now you are also talking about non skilled labor so there are those that don't want to have two jobs or share. also for them to do it on there own the cost of a mortage is like 3000-3500 a monthif you can find a place to rent a house 3bd 2bath home will be like 2100 & up. but again there is even more, but thats best left unsaid coz everyone is different and I don't want to sound bias. but everyone has there reason
