yeah. some people say that he got off easy because he never really fought a truly tough opponent, except for maybe Archie Moore and Joe Louis. I have watched quite a few of his fights, and think that he was pretty bad ass. He did get really lucky a lot of the time with the style of fighting he did, because he left himself wide open when he attacked. I wish fighters these days cared more about the sport of boxing, than trying to look pretty.

i don't think the fighters are the problem. they are an unfortunate symptom. the problem is promoters, judges and basic corruption. that has a bred too many camera-friendly no talents. boxing has very little to no integrity these days, much like anything else driven by money: music, movies, television. the entertainment industry sucks, and it's sucking in the sports industry. yeah, i'm a bit bitter.

The problem is that they need longevity with a half decent win/loss record if they want to eventually get a money- making title fight.

Otherwise, big money fights usually only come to undefeated or close to undefeated fighters. There's too many hard punchers that can distort your record if you fight the way that Rocky fought- take 2 or 3 punches to give 1 of your own.

He was one of the best though.

I think that they recently released the computerized/simulated "fight" between him and Ali.

They say that the fighters had to follow the choreography developed by the computer. Blows to the head had to be pulled but anything went when it came to the body.

Ali was knocked out in the 13th.

Ali was pissed. LOL!

I agree with most of what Lofty has to say as well.

You need a roadmap to follow the alphabet titles out there!! LOL!

I, too, agree mostly with what Lofty said. It is sad that this is the route much of the entertainment (including sports) world is headed.
