Has anyone tried these? I won a 5-pack of the Torpedo’s and tried one on Sunday. It is a nice looking stick that is oily to the touch. I made a Vodka Martini (Finlandia / Dry/ 2-Olives / Shaken) and retired to the patio and sparked it up. I was very disappointed. Good draw and burned smoothly but it was harsh most of the smoke. Maybe if they take a "nap" for a few months they will get better. Anyone else try these?

Yes, once upon a time I had a couple of the Maya Torps and had the same "sensation" you described! Have not tried them since!

It was a warm night. I cracked open a Tecate Beer & Lit up one of those smokes. It had the perfect aroma the perfect taste & draw. I love to smoke Mayorgas. Oh did you say Maya? So sorry to ramble. Mayas are the worst smoke Ive ever had. I give them to folks that are cigar moochers. You know the kind of guy I mean. You know at the golf course there is always a guy that forgot his smoke. Whatta Jerk. Thats who gets a Maya from me. I hope this helps. Mag

GTof Murphy, I'm a Manhattan man myself, but I'm curious about your Vodka Martini... when you say "Dry" what is the ratio of vermouth to Finlandia? LG

First things first..............dry Vodka Martini means just pass the vermouth cork over the glass. Ratio of zero to Vodka with Olives or Jalapenos!!!!

second, I do not believe the Maya rates as low as the much heralded Lone Wolf or quite possibly Dead Frogs (whatever they are?) although I have never had a Jumping or Dead Frog!

I believe very dry is tilt the bottle/wave the cork over the top but do not pour. Dry is pour vermouth in the glass swirl and pour out.

Maya Reserva means "Crap" in Spanish, for those that are linguistically (is that even a word?) challenged

Lazygardner: Defcon is right. Dry means swirl the vermouth in the glass and toss and extra dry is just a hint of vermouth (the best way to do this is with a quick shot from a small spray bottle into the glass. You can pick these up at the "The Container Store". One other note: ALWAYS chill the glass with some ice and toss before adding the shaken/chilled vodka.

Hey guys, you convinced me, had these on my watchlist and was going to buy five tonight. Just deleted. As to the Martini, it's sounding better and better, (swirled in a glass excellent idea), just lacks for my taste the three largest olives you can spear on the stick. ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
