I was wondering if both parents signatures are necessary for infant passports.

Your child need not appear in person. You, as parent or legal guardian, can apply for your child. When you receive the passport it must be signed immediately. In the space provided for the signature, a parent must print the child's name and then sign their own name. Then, in parentheses by the parent's name, write the word "mother" or "father." Your newborn's passport will be valid for five years but may be renewed as needed.

Liz, Talk to the hubby and have him talk to his PN. The Navy will give the baby, and you, a no-fee passport, as long as you both are listed on his orders. That's what we did when we moved to London shortly after Katie was born. They gave Katie a no-fee passport. The wife had to renew her own, because she isn't a US citizen.

tarheel,

Far as I know Clive is the only one on his orders - Sterling is on his page 2 but I'm not because we aren't married yet. I have a passport, it's just sterling that doesn't have one.
