...but I feel that if a thread is going along well, and there end up being a few posts off topic or in bad taste, there is no basis for shutting down the entire thread. Remove the off-topic / offensive posts and let the discussion continue. JMHO....

yeah...i'm sure it was about me saying that i wasn't gonna change and they would have to use their passwords if they needed to

pretty weak to shutdown that thread and not the "I'm Sorry" or "Here's my pic hope you like it" threads where there is actually some insults

but, steve was being heavy handed like i said he would have to be. why of all places it fell where it did i don't know

and before anyone gets on my ass, i know and accept that cbid can set any rules and make any decisions it wants. i ain't pissed.

but it strikes me as funny

now time for bfast

Cbid would have to have someone monitor each thread posted. That's not their job.

I may not agree with pulling or shutting down a thread, but I understand their position.

tarheel4lyf - With the amount of work I have to do to edit each 'bad' post or yank each insult within every thread, combined with the amount of work I am already doing in order to clean up the forums (including countless emails), it was much easier to shut down the entire thread in order to eliminate the chance of more posts to edit within the thread in the (very) near future, which were likely inevitable.

billy - I am still in the process of reading the forums, among many other things.

in all seriousness, kudos to you for wielding the axe you bore in "welcome to 2006".

you've posted stuff like that before and nothing changed

but of course, you know if you continue to be Castroesque, you will lend credibility to my theory that you disagreed with! 🙂

billy - I can't stop it all, and I understand this, but I can make an honest effort at playing the role of damage control. Us men are stubborn, and naturally born with thick skulls made for crushing beer cans and walking into things. I am prepared to deal with this 😉

yeah....mine's thick too, and I walk into many things with it. Oh! Are we talking skulls here? I thought you said....nevermind.

Ear.

so steve

am i allowed to disagree? with political posts, religious, oinks, cigars, whatever?

so as long as i don't call a name or use a bad word, i'm ok? what if i genuinely believe that a person's opinion is a detriment to life in general? can i say so, or do i have to let that opinion go unchallenged or at least not called for what i see it as?

if things have gotten so out of control, you can't reel things in by pointing back to rules that were never enforced in the first place.

if i want to stick around, i've got to guess at what you think is acceptable and not say what i think, even if i don't use bad words or names

how strongly can i disagree with someone? till they email you?

see steve, it is not simple...no matter how much you want to make it so or how much you "trust" us to be adults

in fact, will my differences with you on this put me in the dog house though i haven't called names or said bad words to you?

Did you have to wear a helmet as a child?
