This is my old friend Lane (the pasty white guy from the Warrick Dunn photo) who knows Brad Whitford from Aerosmith and gets me seats to the shows when they are near. He took Karen, our friend Tim's g/f, backstage and she took some pictures. She came up about a 1/2 hour later and swapped the laminate out with me and I got to go down . . . 623473.jpg

it would be great to be able to go back stage!

but looking at Steven.......look's to be thinking...

"Could we please get this SHiiiiiii over with???"

good pic of him though, close enough!!

just a shame he couldn't crack just one quick smile for one pic! i know he's probably tired...but a smile isn't too much to ask.

There were over 200 on the guest list that night ... I was looking at an old picture of him the other day, and he had that same expression ... he is The Most Personable Rock Star I Know . . . Always yakking a 100 miles a minute. I wouldn't think he was being rude, as he has known Lane for about 10 years . . . who knows, ... South Florida is a 2nd home for them, and I bet they were being pulled in 20 directions at once . . . I have seen some great pictures of those two together . . .

I referred to "S. Tyler's mug" in the Lars Tetens and Steven Tyler photo. However, this one looks like a morgue shot. Steven needs to get in the sun more often.

Jet, I greatly enjoy most of your Aerosmith shots.

But this one makes me a little sad.

Steve looks like a caricature of himself.

At his age, perhaps a makeover is in order.

Maybe a smile would help!

Who exactly did you go down on?

He's a 56 y/o man who had a hard core drug habit for 10 yrs in the late 70's and early 80's . . . he still makes thousands of 20 y/o's squeel with delight . . . He can hold 20,000 people in the palm of his hand. I think he's doing ok . . .

He IS the consumate rock 'n roller.

But how does a 56yr. old man, who's been so hard on his body & beginning to look older (facially) than his age, maintain a FULL head of DARK hair?

Has he discovered the fountain of Reagan?

No slam bro, just curious.

Dunno ... but up until this tour he was swinging Way Out Around the Audience on a Trapeze during the Guitar Solo on Walk This Way, all the while high fiving all the fans while hanging from his knees . . . I was amazed every time he did it.

I know folks are tired of the Aerosmith Threads, and I promise to give them a rest.

I am waiting on that picture disk to arrive with all the photos that my friend in South Florida took during the show. I might have to share the best one or two.

I will say this ... if there are any R & R fans out there, their DVD, "You Gotta Move" is Awesome and can be had on amazon.com for about 10 bucks. It was filmed in Fort Lauderdale in 2004 . . .

Jet - I'm about halfway thorugh Steven Tyler's "Does The Noise In My Head Bother You?"

I met him twice, back stage in the 80s. For "rock stars", they were all very nice. The second time, after the press conference, Tyler and I got to talking and he invited me to the band's hospitality suite. I got to have a beer and graze with the band at their after-show buffet. We talked about natural child birth, of all things. 🍺

Tyler's book is pretty true to his style. If you want a linear read on the guy, this ain't it. It's written in his ADHD stream-of-conscious. After a chapter or two, it became easy to follow. Lot of neat pictures in the book. Some parts that made me laugh out loud. Great insight on how Tyler and Perry write together. How Tyler got his lyrical style. Some revisionist history, I'm sure. But then again, with the dump truck full of drugs they each ingested, a little historical back-fill is to be expected.

On a ferry ride to the island of Nantucket, my wife says to me: "don't turn around, but I think Mick Jagger is sitting behind you!"

I said "it's probably Steven Tyler" and sure enough he was slumming it with us on the slow boat.

By the time my wife and I paid up our bill at the Rose and Crown, Tyler's entourage had settled in to their seats. Since it was about the ump-teenth time we had to endure their sizable group during this warm off-season afternoon, I walked over to him and said "Excuse me, Mr Tyler, but could you please stop following me around the island?"

His face went from blank, to startled, to full out laughter and he tried to high five me (I say try, because I wasn't prepared and actually fumbled the opportunity).

He said "I thought I recognized you! but don't worry, it won't happen again." (or something to that effect)

And everyone at his table laughed like it was the funniest line even George Carlin could ever muster, while my wife stood aghast.
