Any good lighter recommendations found here on Cigarbid. Looking for functionality more than looks. Price is important since I seem to always lose or misplace them.

The Colibri Quantum Jet is a solid, reliable cigar lighter. they retail for ~$30, but you should be able to save some here.

You want inexpensive?!?

Do what I do, and bid (or buy On CI) those Thunderbolt, Bowman, Ascot or Techno jet torch lighters (by the two-pack) ... I've won two -packs for as little as $7 ...

... or even cheaper is the two-pack of Blazer knock-offs they are selling at CI right now.

They work an incredibly long time, and if you lose them or they stop working ... no big deal. They are cheap!

For outside use in the wind, the cheap torch lighters work fine. They're usually sold here in 2 and 5 packs and can be had for $5 or less if you're patient. Any old lighter will work indoors.
This site has some great deals at times on Colibri lighters. They cost a little more but are very well made.

buy the cheapest throw away lighters you can, usually a buck. we have a store here in so cal that imports them from china. the last box of 50 i bought was $3.50 for the box. when they stop working, throw them away. they will do about anything a $50.00 lighter will do.

RICKAMAVEN: I agree with you..except I live 2 miles from the Colibri Factory - they open from November til Christmas. The prices are RETARDED! It makes you think about what the real cost of mfg. is!

ie: Colibri Vortex = $25

The "Trek" dual jet flame by Solo is a great lighter. Lifetime guarantee (replaced free). Even if you lose it, they will sell you a new one half price. Priced around $22-$24.

i wonder also.

the little throw away lighters sell for $1.00 at 7/11 or places like that. i paid 7 cents at a wholesale warehouse and they have had it shipped from china and are selling it to me for a profit. the mfg made a profit. the shipper made a profit. the employee who made it got paid for his work, the biggest markup is by the retailer. he marks it up from $.07 to a dollar. strange.

I just picked up the Bowman 2 pack here. It is a nice lighter. Hold the button down for torch action to sweat fittings, de-ice locks, or light yer cigar. Lift the button and the sucker stays lit with a dual flame. NEATO! All for $10.00 or so........

Cheap lighter is a good idea, particularly if you tend to lose them ... that Bowman IS a good choice, for example ... unless you lose them quicker than they need refilling, don't put crap fluid in it simply because it's not an expensive lighter (Ronson, for example is nothing but lighter poison) ... if you put in triple refined or better fluid, my experience is that they'll work just fine ...

The most dependable cheapo jet I've found yet is the "Cybernetic Jet" $7 two years ago in chicago. I did lose it for a few months but other than that 1 1/2 yrs service.Just a note on these or other cheapos take a small screwdriver and tighten up the screws from time to time, other than that ZERO problems.
