Hey, fellow magnificent cigar smokers! Is the week starting off well? This day's about to end with a brew and a Flor de Oliva -- a new try, a deal I just couldn't pass up. Anyone else tried this brand? Your thoughts? If it turns out decent I'll toss it in the box when it makes its way to me.

Oops. I meant to post on the Trades board. I'll go there now without my dinner.

it is a decent cigar, I think the cap is sweetened, for something makes it a bit sweet, but no big thrill with this cigar, Duques are much better if you want the strong full flavored bundle cigar

Time out boys. Before killing this mediocre label completely, smoke their "Grand Cameroon Box Press Robusto" If you have read any of my posts you will see I am very hard on cigar labels as my expectations are very high. Although I do not particularly like the Flor de Oliva line in general, this Cameroon smoke rivals ANY of the ones I've tried. I put this stick up againt my C.A.O Cameroons, Perdomo 2 etc and the like. I tell you what, buy the box for your "trade group" and give them a shot. If you guys don't like the smoke, I'll buy the balance. [email protected]

The best thing is, their cheap. Next to Mayorga Maduros and Dos Rios Robusto these are the best cigars under $2.

Your last sentence sold me. My recent "around $2" favorites are the two you mentioned -- Mayorga and Dos Rios. I'll keep my eye on the Cameroons. Last night I did try the Flor de Oliva I mentioned in the first post -- I thought it really wasn't bad! Aberdeen is right, it did seem to be sweetened slightly, like a Carbonell (although not as sweet). It went well with the brown ale I was drinking. Maybe the sweet flavors just mixed well. Or maybe my palate is just wacky. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion!
