I was watching the History Channel last night and they had a show about Desert Storm and lots of Generals, etc were commenting on the actions and how we should address Saddam today! I could not help but notice how the people in Kuwait were cheering and waving American Flags when our troops were moving into the populated areas! Much like the French and Italians in WWII! It is really sad how these people loved the USA at that time and the way they look at us only 11 years after saving their miserable asses! I still believe we should occupy the entire Middle East and rename it "New Texas"! I am only joking about the New Texas thing, but how many more times are we going to have to keep on saving the "World" and have them jeer us 10 years later?

Not all of them Jeer us Charlie allot of them still like the USA and the people.. there are different factions of religion in those countries.. one thing they do not like is how we do tend to push our democratic system to them.. they do not want to be what they call Westernized (sp)... its just like any people they fear what they do not know or understand... and they follow leaders who are like Saddam and Osama by fear they lead the people.. they know no better...

just my .02 cents worth...

Maybe they'll stop hating us when we stop saving the world? I think that is pretty obvious

Charlie, nice post. I wish more Americans felt as we do. Tonight I was watching C-Span's airing of Sec Def's Donald Rumsfeld's press conference where he fielded questions regarding the current situation in Iraq. It was troublesome to hear some of the questions, doubting support of our President, our country. What really troubled me is the press conference that aired after, given by "The Veterans for Common Sense", headed by a Desert Storm Veteran E4/Specialist Erik Gustafson. To make a very long story short, he was seeming to represent all Gulf War Vets, and Americans, stating that we should not rush into war with Iraq, and that there is no evidence that Iraq is a threat, etc., etc. This has upset me greatly. Personally, I too am a Desert Storm vet while I served in the US Army. Currently,I'm serving in the US Air Force, and I felt compelled to express my thoughts. I will, without a doubt deploy to Iraq if my country call on me. I was just wanting to vent and disassociate myself with jerk-offs like Gustafson, who unbelievably once took an oath to support and defend our nation. Whew....I feel much better. I would like to say that I am among the active duty members that would lay their life down for the defense of our nation, and ironically the right of the previously mentioned ****'s right to express his beliefs, even though I strongly disagree.

Now I feel better.

It hurts to see the protests building and the idiots who support them, such as Jessica Lange, Mike Ferrell, Marty Sheen, Babs, and so on!!! Also, the sheer stupidity of Sean Penn with the trip to Iraq troubles me very much!

I was in Vietnam (US Navy)and I remember the protesters and the jerks who called me a babykiller and other things! It hurt to know that we were not getting full support of our citizens and I am sure this round of trash that will be protesting are making our military men and women feel the same way! Go away Susan Sarandon and the rest of your ignorant ilk!

God Bless America
