Sorry these pics are a bit scrunched--had to shrink the size down.

These page has a lot of great bands. Notice the life-like litho of Queen Victoria on the lower left. Also, check out both the Girl from Paris Cigars and the Flor de Casanova--proof that they used sex even back then to sell tobacco products. Several of these bands sport the region of Vuela Abajo in Cuba, denoting their region of manufacture. The small label in the upper right is beautifully embossed featuring a brand called La Pemla del Oriente. Other notables include Hercules brand third down on the right and King of Macedon brand. Another great historical piece is the second down on the left--La Flor de Lillian Russell, the most popular actress of the day. At the bottom we have Santa Fe (maybe related to the machine-made brand of current day?). Frisco's is intriguing; no doubt a local manufacturer or at least distributor. Some other company abbreviations include C.G.T.F., De S.H.CA, as well as Seidenberg & Co. of New York.

For Christams several years ago my youngest daughter collected my bands and made them into a scrap book, using a photo album. Pretty cool idea. The cover says "Dad's Cigar Bands". When I try a new one, I add it to the book.

What does that top right one say? That thing is impressive.

The embossed one on the upper right says La Pemla de Oriente. It's actually a small box label rather than a band, but very cool looking. I'll post some pics soon of various cigar labels that I have. I'll also provide a few more pics of the old bands, but I'm trying to figure out how to shrink them down (to fit the memory requirements of Cbid)without them getting all stretched out.
