Last post today I swear 🙂 How do you find is the best way to light your stogies?

I find the foot works best.

IMHO ONLY: Char the foot with a torch lighter. Place the torch flame under the cigar, rotate it and pull the flame to the cigar by puffing as you rotate it. Flip the cigar around, give the lit end a quick blow to see if it's orange all the way around. That is the most even way I know of to light a cigar.

Most important thing is to start with an even burn so your cigar burns straight. How you do it don't really matter but what I do is "toast the foot" with torch. Hold the cigar a little away from the flame like you're toasting a marshmallow. When she she's toasted evenly and starts to smoke a little I like to draw on it a few times while applying the flame and when your cigar throws off a little flame of her own she's lit.

Make sure you leave the cedar wrap on, though.

It depends, if you're smoking at night the cello burns and drips purple flames. In daylight the cedar wrap is a better visual.

I smoke so much that I piggyback mine.

IMHO I think that's the best way to light up. Puff up the stub real good before tossing it. Just knock off the ash and fire up. It's like using a car lighter. Except you don't have a chance of over fireing it.

The first one of the day I toast the foot with the heat from the corona of the flame while rotating to get an even burn. I don't let the flame(especially a torch or jet type), touch the end. It gets too hot and can carbonize the end and start the experience off with a burnt taste. If the ash is black instead of gray or pepper you may have over fired it.

I also puff lightly when lighting up. George Burns style, short quick puffs. Once I know it's lit, I gently blow back through it to get any of the initial burn out. Then you're ready.

To complicated? Maybe, I learned most of this stuff from working in a smoke shop as a newbie 32 years ago.
