I thought the passing of Fred Rogers yesterday (of Mr. Rogers fame) was worthy of note. Our world is so full of insurmountable problems, evils, and cynicism, that it's become easy to overlook people who are quietly making an equally huge difference in a positive way. This guy was bigger than life in the attribute of kindness, and he impacted a generation of kids with the message that goodness is a viable choice in this very confusing world. To me, that's big news, and worthy of a moment's relief from the raging torrent of global unrest. Just shows how powerful one individual can be.

What made him truely special is despite his fame you didn't hear stories of him involved with cocaine, or child pornogrophy, or exposing himself at a movie theater. He was truely a good man.
