Ok, I'm an admitted addict to Puros Indios. Yet I've never tried these Roly Seconds which are supposedly ugly PI's. I just won a 5 pack. Any comments out there on these? Are they just as good?

I have tried one, and I think these are complete rubbish. I mean c'mon, Puros Indios aren't that expensive to begin with, spend a few extra bucks and get the real thing and toss the seconds.

Aberdeen, I used to feel the same way until I smoked some that had been sitting in my 'dor for about 8 months. Then I started smoking them up pretty quick. Buy you are right.....You can get other firsts for just a little more. So to answer your question: No these are not the fabled " Smokey Grail".....but with age they can be enjoyable.....So our conclusion is: if you get a great deal, put some away for a few months, then you will have a very good cheap smoke.

I hate Puros Indios, but like the Rolys a lot...Figure that one out..."No Maduros?"...Thats the only ones I ever purchased...I used to smoke Rolys religiously and feel its a good bundle smoke for the cash.

Almost forgot to mention...Last April at the Big Smoke in Chicago, I was talking to Rolondo Reyes Jr (guy is really funny!) and I told him how I can't stand (I used better wording in conveying my thoughts) Puros Indios but enjoy Rolys...I asked him "Why is that?..Is there any difference?", and he told me that the Rolys use a different wrapper than Puros Indios and maybe that's why I like them more..He also said that he has heard from people who enjoy Rolys and don't care for P.I. several times in the past.....I have no idea if he was kidding or not, but that's what the MAN said.

actually that makes sense, I love Puros Indios but hate Roly seconds, if you hate PI, it stands to reason you might like Roly's. Okay maybe aging will help, but I have enough to do as it is, I've been up since 5AM you know. And the kipper is past the expiration date. And what about this business of Reyes' son making a cigar. In one month CI gave it a very good rating in cigar insider then a few weeks later in the magazine gave it a terrible rating. I doubt I would try it anyway, Cuba Aliados is as far as I will stray from PI, little difference between those two.
