NEW ORLEANS, March 20 -- A military hearing officer today recommended against court-martialing two U.S. pilots who killed four Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan last year in a friendly-fire bombing one of the men blamed on the "fog of war."

Although Col. Patrick Rosenow said there was enough evidence to court-martial both pilots, he said "non-judicial" or administrative punishment would maintain "the interests of good order and discipline." Rosenow presided over the nine-day investigative hearing in January.

It probably has little to do with the amphetamine pills that the pilots were taking, on orders I might add. I have been following this story for some time, and I believe that the amphetamines have a huge roll in this accident.

Just my thoughts

Yes I know these Two Pilots personally..."Guido" Bill Umbach is a good friend and Cigar Smoker from way back

I will not comment any further then to say I think these Men are Honerable and Upstanding Pilots as well as Officers of the United States Air Force who have been unjustly wronged over what was a Total Accident...

all we can do is await the outcome of their Fate and Maybe these Men can come home from there Deployment Soon!!!!!

I wish these guys well and hope that the convening authority has sense enough to take the recommendation and not conduct a court martial. I don't think it would serve any useful purpose.
