All this talk about cheesecakes. I have never tried one...ever. But the way you guys keep talking I just might have to. Are they really that good? I guess it is the cheese in the word cheesecake that keeps stopping me.

Wbslngr - You simply gotta try a cheese cake. Not just any though - I recommend one made by a local backery. Then you will know what we are talking about. Yummy!

wbslngr, There are many types of cheesecakes. I like them all! Most common today are ones made with cream cheese. They are more creamy than cheesey. Just get a plain New York style to start. Always begin with the basics!

Cheesecake Factory is pretty good, but try to get REAL New York style...preferably flown in from someplace like the Carnegie Deli. There are places that will carry it -- for example, the Noshville Deli in Nashville, TN. Best cheesecake ever!

We did have a little bit. Jd1 only wanted a 1/8 wedge. I can honestly say that it is.....perfect! The New York style is very simple. Cream cheese, sugar,a little flour, vanilla, eggs and sour cream with a nice sour cream topping. The crust is the most difficult part. Once you've done the first one it's.....a piece of cake!
