Anyone smoked these?

I bought a box here on a whim. The regular line is a bit too mild for me (though, I think, still pretty decent), so I thought I'd try the maduro. It promised to be fuller bodied, and it was. Quite tasty!

Very even burn on the torpedo, light gray to white ash that clung together firmly. Smoked cool and smooth with an easy draw. The flavor had a lot of earthy tobacco flavors, with cocoa and sweetness all over the oily body. Very much a medium bodied smoke...nothing more, nothing less. Stayed consistent in flavor throughout, deepening a bit after the half-way point. Smoked to the nub and enjoyed every last bit. The aroma off the cigar was excellent, very cedary.

Highly recommended as an affordable smoke. If you like sweet tobacco flavor with some richness to take the edge off, this is a damn good smoke.

Got the box here for about $40. Great deal. They'd sat for two months before smoking, but I think will greatly improve with a bit of time.

Haven't tried them yet but have been looking at them and drooling. With your review I think I may have to see about winning a bid on some.

Just like the natural line...Bleeeeechhh!

Smoked one today. Very good draw and lots of smoke. Flavor is still on the mild side for my taste (even the maduro) but still like it for a change of pace.

Almost finished with my box. Mild smoke for a maddie, somewhat tangy? Not bad for a morning to midday smoke or change of pace.

I've been wanting to try this, but haven't seen the maduro show up for auction lately. I'll just wait for them to come up here and give them a shot.

One of cigardom's great misconceptions; that the maduro wrapper is stronger or has more power. Tobacco is cured to maduro to impart a flavor profile that many would describe as sweet. Maduro is not necessarily more powerful. Often manufacturers will ferment strong leaf to maduro to give the cigar a "stronger, more powerful eye appeal." Smoke an all corojo/ligero blend in EMS and you'll find plenty of strength. Try a Cuban Bolivar Belicoso Fino and you'll see that strength doesn't always correlate with color.

Yes, you are right...the maduro is more flavor than strength. Adds richness, which often seems like more body. Either way, it improves the regular line by giving more body and flavor, blend AND maduro wrapper, I gather.

Yeah, enjoy a nice JDNA with a natural maduro. Smooth as a baby's xxx. Much milder than other naturals. =:-o
