6:30 AM meeting on layer 2 VPNs... Yuck! The problem with technology is the rapid rapacious pace at which it evolves. It is exhausting to try to keep up. Ever year or two "everything" changes, and I mean everything. When you're a brick layer, you can be a good brick layer and in 10 years, you'll still be a good brick layer, carpenter, etc... I'm not demeaning these professions, on the contrary, I'm envious.

Robby...are you in IT, or are you a manager who has to put up with and stay abreast of IT topics?

Network engineering. They keep me informed/I keep myself informed, I'd rather stay a breast... Yes, a manager.
