Good eye Rick. She was nervous because she knows that she's not allowed on those chairs. If my wife was in the room I couldn't have got her up there at all.

A real sweety. We too have a lab/collie mix with some other dog mixed in (not sure) and she is the absolute best dog we've owned. Great with the kids and very intelligent.

It is with the greatest sadness that I tell you that Molly died suddenly Wednesday night at about 8:00PM. She was her usual happy, playful self right up to her last minute on this Earth. She appeared to have some sort of spasm for about 5 seconds, made a few gasps, then she arched her back for maybe 2 seconds then went limp. By that time she was in my arms and I saw the light go out of her eyes. I gave her "mouth to mouth" while my wife drove the 10 miles to the 24hr vet. clinic, but she was gone.
The vet suspects that it was due to an artery rupture in her abdomen or possibly her brain.
She was a wonderful ambassador for "Dogdom" and made friends wherever she went. And she was my favorite buddy. I will think of her everyday for rest of my life, I'm sure.

Sorry about Molly, that is like losing a child! How old was she and what kind of dog was she? I am so sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear about Molly. Someone who does not have pets does not know what a terrible loss it is when something like this happens. I had a shephard that had a similiar situation about a year ago. I cried like a baby. There is no greater love than the unconditional love that a dog has for its family.Hang in there my friend , it will get easier.

THL, sorry about your dog Molly. I know how it feels. My shepard died in my arms a few years back. I still think of him everyday.:>(

Charlie, Molly was about 10-11 yrs old. She was approx. a year old when I got her from the pound in late '93. Her Lab/Border Collie blood made her the smartest and sweetest dog I've known. Give her 5 minutes and 1/4 lb. of bologna and she could learn anything. When she saw that my wife or I were getting ready to give her a bath she would jump in the tub before the water was even running. She loved it. You couldn't keep her out of the water.
But I digress.
You guys all have your dogs that you love and think, "I really do have the best dog in the world!"

And you really do.

this is the second or third time i have read this post. i lost geordie when he was 16, in 1973 and i still feel his loss.

i have out lived all of my dogs and the truth is you only have one dog in your life. i loved all of my pets, but geordie was my dog.

I am very sorry for your loss. I remember how bad I felt when I lost my first adopted Greyhound, Mellie. Find comfort in the fact you provided her a comfortable and enjoyable life, and she returned the favor with complete loyalty and unconditional love.

Alas, I am the proud victim of a retarded slab.......animals are wonderful.
