so the end of the first year of college is drawing near, and, because i did MUCH better than my parents expected, they decided to buy me a house here (yah i know im a lucky kid)....what im wonderin is what cigars should i smoke the night i get it??
in my humi ive got a la gloria serie R, a Hoyo de monterrey exacalibur, an excalibur 1066, a Fuente (the same as the ones that were on here), a CAO gold, a hoyo de monterrey dark sumatra, a macanudo gold label, my last 5 vegas, a cohiba red dot, and i have a friend whos gonna sell me some of his opus x's.....
just wonderin which of those you guys would puff on on the occassion of your first night in your first house

The day I closed on my house, just a month and a half ago, I lit up some of my best. Opus X, PAM, Cuban Monte #4 and a Cuban Partagas EL Series D No.3. Go for the best you've got, this is what you've been saving them for.

In a year or so take a home equity loan and buy a duplex or larger income property.Unless your parents did more than put a down payment into your house,in which case get a new first mortgage and reinvest in more real property.Keep reinvesting and paying down the mortgages.Keep your properties in top shape and be very selective,thoroughly checking tenants' references and credit.Personally,I won't rent to students.

But my point is your parents will be real happy and impressed if you use your house like a tool.Do your best work,they've given you more than a house.

P.S. I live in a former church.A bit hard to finance,not a lot of demand for them,you can get lots of square footage for your bucks.Often they have large lots and can easily be converted to multi-units.

Years ago when I lived in Sun Valley, Idaho, there was a bar that was in a former church ... the former pulpit was the bandstand and some of the former pews were still there along the back wall, for seating at some of the tables ... that was pretty interesting, but to LIVE in one? ... I'd imagine the "living room" is a bit larger than in your typical tract home, huh?
