Rick - I was always accused of cheating on my math and science test all through out school. Even in college! All that mumbo jumbo about formulas and theory just makes sense to me. But ask me when the war of 1812 is and I have no idea 😉 History, English, etc... I can't do for the life of me. Guess thats why everyone thought I always cheated.

PENGUIN -

- almost forgot -

I would have sent you a Stick for figuring out Base 13 - I don't see that all that much in a response ... however, to get your stick ...

... I'll need a photographed copy of your Driver's License and a Note from your Mother stating that she allows you to smoke cigars ....

- and you'll need to sign a disclosure absolving me completely from suit if you ever develop lung cancer ...

Actually, I got more work done in study hall than (or then...see, here's my english skills) I do at my desk here at work. If I could just keep off this forum, I would probably get a lot more done 😉

The number '42' (base ten) is equal to '101010' in base two - just an alternating pattern of ones and zeros. Also, as pointed out earlier, 42 (base 13) is equal to 54 (base 10).

Our planet Earth is 42 orders of magnitude (based on powers of ten) larger than the Planck Length (the smallest length that humans have been able to measure - Planck Length is 1 x 10^-35m.).

Consequently, the angle at which light reflects off water and creates rainbows is 42 degrees.

In Chess the maximum number of queens that you can place on the board and still have one "safe" square is 42. e.g.:

e q q q q q q e

e q q q q q e q

e q q q q e q q

e q q q e q q q

e q q e q q q q

e q e q q q q q

e e q q q q q q

s e e e e e e e

q = queen

e = empty

s = safe

To help the males understand this better: A Playtex Wonderbra is made from 42 individual parts; hence, the answer to the Universe.

LOL @ LOW -

NOT ME LOW - that's all just additional info regarding the #42 from various sources - but it IS all correct ... you could probably find some if not all of the same information on one of the #42 websites like the one pointed out above.
