I called it, (as did wanyburger) Yanks in 5! I was so confident that we'd win, I lit up my ISOM Cohiba Corona Especial at the top of the 9th while the game was still tied 🙂 The cigar was like the 2000 season for the Yanks, not the best smoke (or team statistically) in the world of cigars (or 2000 MLB), but authentic and gets the job done! A good performance by a great dynasty! 🙂 Now I can't sleep!

I like Torre but the rest of the team can go to H%ll%......Strawberry will celebrate by lighting up a crack rock while the rest of the team enjoys a good smoke. As for Roger Clemmons......I hope that bat end finds it's way up your A_S.

Mt. sherry, spoken like a true putz! Glad to see you remembered my prediction hegie!! I enjoyed a Bock Y CA Habana 2000 Oscuro during the game what an unbelievable smoke. I must create a new post over this finding....

Heg and Wany, don't forget my predictions altough they were a little off they weren't that far off!
As far as Clemens throwing a ball at Pretty boy "you want another gerbil with your Piazza", he did one better by throwing a splintered bat at him. Maybe mstheron the gerbil and Piazza can get together for a good time!!
Cone did throw a shutout at Shea, but it was for only one inning... oh yeah, didn't he srike out Piazza?
Knoblach didn't get a chance to kill a Mets fan with an errant throw, you can't have everything!
The Yanks did win thier third WS in a row nad htat Monte was great.
As far as Strawberry goes, the Yankees probably gave him one to many chances... and he is no longer with the team. So Mt. Sharon I don't see what you could have against the hardest working overachievers in baseball, unless you are a Mets fan!???

Don't pull for any of those guys other than McGwire who I have several rookie cards of for investment sake along with several other notables, it's a business you see. As for NY and the Yankees......oh well any typing there is a waste of time. As for name calling....how childish but I respect your defense of the lil' Yankees, I assume your a fan or just lashing out for the hell of it because your so bored with your life that you get your rocks off on such trivial matters.

Ouch. good points mtsheron. Selly, you should know better than to resort to direct name-calling. So what if someone doesn't like your team? Get used to it. As for the Yankees being "overachievers", are you serious??? The best team won, the best team on paper, the MOST EXPENSIVE team, need I go on?. How do you consider them Overachievers? What is your definition, anyhow? The Whitesox were overachievers all year until the very end. The Yankees should have been in the drivers seat all season, but they weren't. If it were not for the best postseason manager of our lifetime, they would not even have been there. C'mon, I understand your loyalty, but that team is nothing but a bunch of punks with talent and a GREAT coaching staff. Jeter is the ONLY player on that team that truly deserves the ring. The others should go straight to the hall of shame... and I'm not even a Mets fan!

obviously. You're probably a Seattle fan. I love to see our victory (yes I think I'm on the team) eat away at the Yankee haters.

Like I said, team spirit is good and so is adversarial comments and remarks but name calling just does not get it......besides on my job I get called so many names I like to think this is one place I can make my comments and you guys respect what I say and vice versa. But I promise you no hard feelings, just all in fun and seriousness what I say at times, enjoy. But yes I wished the Mets would have won it because it is great to see the wealth spread around.....as for Sellnmony......gerbils are not my choice of good times and yes I like Piazza....you will be hard pressed to find a tougher catcher anywhere in the league and how bout that stand up thing he may do with the splintered bat like auction it off for charity......would Clemmons had done that with the ball he beaned him with...doubt it! He is just such a class act.....NOT! Enjoy guys.....no hard feelings.

Piazza schmiazza, The BEST catcher in the majors is Pudge Rodriguez of the Rangers hands down! Offensively and defensively. Pudge 'll be in the Hall and Piazza will be at home wishing he were.

Wany, Seattle has a team? BTW, if you were on the team, you could start at second...

It's funny you say that. I've played ball all through school and have played a little softball for the last five years on an industrial league. I split time between short and second and I have been known to throw a ball awry every now and then. Anyway, my team mates have used the term "chuck burger" a few times.....

Piazza = worst catcher in the MLB today (although one hell of a power hitter). Yankees = DYNASTY/God's team. All other teams are merely props in the story that is the NY Yankees 🙂 BTW, I played a season in the MABL, a hardball league, I'm a better fan than player 🙂

Too bad "God's team" just hosted the LOWEST RATED world series ever. Sounds like your god got stuck on the Long Island Expressway. BTW, Mets fan, Seatle fan, Orioles fan: If you guys can't recognize the high- pitched squeel of a Red Sox fan then you are not TRUE Yankees fans afterall....

What would God be doing on the Long Island Expressway!? What do TV ratings have to do with winning the World Series!? Why can't the Red Sox even GET to the playoffs? (oh yeah, that's because they can't even touch the Yanks in the regular season... ) For you BoSox fans out there, one name, Bill Buckner.

Buckner was the scapegoat vs the Mets, not the Yanks. As for TV ratings, they mean EVERYTHING. You think the owners have teams to make their wives happy? It's to make money. No rating=No money. The whole country is bored with the Yank-me's. I repeat: They are PUNKS with talent and a great coach. So go ahead and rejoice, just don't expect the rest of America to join in, and please don't put the Almighty on the list of fans waiting for Doc Goodens' 8 ball to be autographed!
