Of all the things that ol' Blue Eyes was, I never thought of him as "Rock". IMO.

Maybe Rock Star is'nt the best desciption.

imho,he is the first Mr.Cool Pop Star.

I'm 44 until recently I never really appreciated what a great talent he was.I was in a used CD store and came across a re-mastered collection of his hits from the Early 50s to the mid-60's.It is a favorite of mine now.

There was a VERY cool article about Frank back in Spin magaze, maybe in late '97 or early '98, just a few months before he died. Talked about the man behind the scenes: how at parties, he had several drinks stationed around the room so it appeared that he "drank heavily" so as to keep up that image... and some of those decoys had apple juice in them.

Frank always drank his Jack Daniels straight though, never with water. My favorite quote of Frank's: "Water is no good for you -- it'll rust you out. Hell, even my shower has soda water in it!"

I'm 41 and thanks to my parents, Frank has been a dietary staple of mine for decades. My iPod is loaded with his stuff.

I do not think there is a bigger Frank Sinatra fan on this site than me......I have liked him since I was a kid, and have all of his CD collections, several pictures of him on the wall of my Man Room/Smoking room....he makes all other singers pale by comparision.....rock singers included!

I tend to think of some of the great composers as rock starts of their time.
