The weather becomes to crappy and cold to smoke outside, you don't smoke inside and you don't have time to go to the bar more than once or twice a week?

a) Do you buy some cigarello's and grab a quick 15 minute smoke in the cold
b)Tell your significant other "Damnit, it's my place too, and I'll smoke inside if I want to!"
c)Buy stock in your local watering hole, and become a regular.
d) Go into "cigar hibernation" and stop smoking for the winter
e)pre-warm your car and listen to the radio while you smoke
f) take up some other form of consuming that tobacco goodness ie/chew

I turn the garage into a smoking den and break out the robustos or short stories. I also tend to smoke more yard sticks as I don't feel like I waisted a smoke if I want to cut it short.

Spence, during winter here's whta I do.....

I get up saturday mornings, put on some shorts and a short sleeve shirt, go out for a stroll while the coffee brews, then I return and sit outside while smoking a mild cigar, at night , after a good stak I enjoy a full body cigar OUTSIDE at about 10 pm followed by a couple others. At about 1 am I go inside......

Oh, wait did I mention I live in So Cali!!!!

He, He, He...........=)

Weather to cold and crappy to smoke? I am unfamiliar with this phenomenon?? Could you give me some more incite on this strange and piculiar situation?

85 degrees this last weekend here in the sunny Bay Area of Arnoldfornia...Can't wait till it gets reeeeaaaall cold, like in the 50's.

basements, attics and garages...even been known to drive and visit with my father-in-law in his woodshop (about a mile waway). Search earlier messages for comfy but cheap basement remodels. Good luck with cold turkey.

I've been pondering this one and think I have the solution - space heater. You can get an upright heater that will heat up a patio for about $75. I have a friend who tried this last winter and he said it worked great. Good investment if you ask me....

I converted a spare bedroom/bonus room into my inside smoke area. Crack open a window and use a good size air purifier and you can enjoy your cigars without too much aroma escaping to the rest of the house.

I also built a nice sized shed in the back yard. I spend a lot of time tinkering with stuff so I smoke in the shed frequently. I ran TV cable and also added a stereo receiver so I can watch the games or lsten to music. I have two portable heaters. One is kerosene and the other is propane. Either one works fine to heat the 150 sq ft shed.

Exhaust fan in basement. When it's not too cold a chiminea(sp?) does the job out back.

I just put a fan in the window

I've been pondering this same question, spence.

Except it's most complicated for me...

I live in the dorms at IU where smoking isn't allow, the city just banned smoking in all public establishments, and there are no smoke shops around here with lounges.

What should i do?

Beat Dragon,
Typically winter consists of 2-3 feet of snow, and white out blizzards with 0 visibility

Thanks spence,

I do remember reading somewhere about such things. Or did I hear it from my Dad, the transplanted Michiganer, that would always say when asked what he liked best about California,

"You don't have to shovel rain"

I Join a Bud in his basement, to share in a nice smoke and to partake in some heated conversation and cold beverages. Makes the Winter pass pretty fast!

I'm going to Ethan's during the cold. I'll stink up his house instead! LOL

My garage is ~10 degrees (guess) warmer than the outside, so I usually end up there. Shorter gars work well too.

RDC, my wife is pretty small... but I think she could manage to throw BOTH of us out of the house! Of course you're welcome to share my space heater - price of admission is 1 box of Full Sails....

Spence,

I'm another So. Cal. guy, so weather is rarely a factor with cigars here. There's probably one or two nights actually cold enough during the winter to make me think twice about sitting out long enough for a second smoke; summer is actually a little less agreeable--I'd say there are a handful of afternoons that are just too hot to sit out on my pation, but it's usually fine by evening. I empathize with you folks that have to make contingency during the winter. We're a bit spoiled here, I'm afraid.
