Well, I have posted on 3 sites trying to trade for Anejo. No luck, but I was gifted one by a very generous person.
Fired it up last night, whilst watching the Wizard of Oz.
Not being familiar with all the variety, it was a fat torpedo, round all the way, in cedar.
I spent the entire smoke cursing the Fuente family for not providing me the ability to get a replacement. It was incredible.
If you find some in your shop over the holidays, think of little ol' me.

Probably the Anejo #55... mmmmm...

The 77 is the 'Shark' ... and goes from a square foot to a torpedo cap ...

I still have one of the original Anejo 55's from the very first release ...

... you know the one, wrapper aged 7 years in the cask, etc., etc., etc.

I also had the original #49, but that one went to Lowman ... 😉

I had one guy offer me $50 for the 55, but said 'no way' ...

Occasionally, I think it's everyone's duty to write a post that really irritates. A few months ago, I was invited to the prenuptial dinner for a close friend's future son-in-law. The young man's family, I was told, was unhappy about the small (200 guests) size of the wedding and decided to invite all "their" guests to the prenuptial dinner. At the bar, the groom's father placed two humidors filled with cigars, one Macanudo Hyde Park and one Anejo 49. When the evening was over, there were a couple of Macacdoodoos left and virtually the entire stash of 49s. Temptation was very great, but I only took what I smoked while I was there. My friend said I should have filled my pockets.

I just read my post above. I didn't make it very clear. The prenuptial dinner was paid for by the groom's parents; the wedding by my friend, the bride's father. Yes, I wrote the dinner was for the groom-to-be. It was actually for the bridal couple, but you'd never know it. It was more like a testimonial to the groom and his father.

I shouldn't complain. Tremendous food and open bar. Officially, there was no dancing, but there was a great four piece 40s-50s band to entertain.

That just would have been wrong ... why?

1) It just goes to show you that those attending knew nothing about cigars ... and filled their pockets with what 'they' heard from the hyperbole were the best cigars ...

2) The groom's father probably had the best laugh he's had in a great while.

Wow, need a date for the wedding? Wonder what will be at the reception 😛

I've got one that's almost 6 inches long, and may be about 50 at the foot. It's squared off, then gets round to a torpedo head. Red ribbon at foot, but no cedar wrap. White band, says Anejo. Is this a 55?
