Pardon me... but each session of Congress is opened with a prayer. Our country was founded on Judeo/Christian values by the founding fathers and our country is ripe with examples of that (from Seal of our great nation to currency, etc.). The greatest asset of our country is that we dictate laws which are typically in conjunction with the Judeo/Christian moral mindset while still allowing others who disagree to have their say... and their vote.

The founding fathers intended for their to be separation between church and state in the context of not allowing any church (aka a Muslim State or a Catholic State) to actually dictate the laws that a government will implement and enforce. Our laws are implemented by acts of Legislative bodies which are reflections of the voters who placed them in office.

Our founding fathers never intended for schools not to have prayer. You should be able to pray to whoever you desire in schools... or not to pray at all. America is about freedom, yet we are becoming more restricted every day by the Liberals who would seek to undermine the very values this country was founded on. Shame on y'all.

Currently, I am a practicing Civil Engineer. At the moment, I am designing a $1.2B+ interstate system (40+ miles), a $15M wastewater treatment system, numerous computerized traffic control systems (@$5M+), and overseeing several significant transportation research grants.

Now, you have a Phd in Philosophy, correct?
In your day-to-day activities, what do you contribute to society (spouting dribble to punk undergrads is NOT contributing)?

Huh? Russ, please show me where I've said anything bad about military people in this thread. In fact, if you read it, I said the opposite: this is about decision makers. Always has been, always will be. You miss the point when your sole focus and attention is on 'honoring' individuals serving in the military. Sonny, my Daughter is going to College for Arcitectual/Struckeral Engerneering/ Spelling on that on sucks.. but she does CADS and is going to help the Wife and I design our campgrounds soon...this was something I always wanted to do.. and she picked it up because she asked me when she was a freshman in Highschool. Dad what can I do that makes allot of Money and I'll get to travel allot.. I said that above was something I always wanted to do and it would cover what you are asking.. Bingo I'll be damned if she didn't do just that.. well she's 4 1/2 yrs into it anyway... she's just about to complete her BA and move in on the Masters... I could never be more Proud as a Father to see this happen!!!!

Congrats to you in your Profession also... again that was something I always wanted to do... but started out with a family at age 18...tended to slow me down and change my profession...

Structural Engineering is a VERY challenging career, especially on the west coast (seismic conditions - earthquakes and such), and I'm sure she will excel!

"Sonny_LSU," assuming his last name isn't LSU and his first name isn't Sonny, hasn't said anything about his name. Frankly, I don't believe he has an MFA in writing, so how do I know he's not lying?

Respond to my points. Not to who I might be, why I use John's account, etc. Is that so hard? I don't see anyone else using their names and discussing their professions, so why should I?
