I'm looking to purchase a few boxes of ISOM's via the internet. If you have a company you've done business with and recommend...I would be appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.

"The purchase and sale of ANY CUBAN related product, including Cuban cigars, is illegal for all and any US resident/citizen. Due to the US-Cuban Embargo established by the American Government back in the 60's."
I was not sure if you knew, just giving you the heads up, asking for illegal contacts in an open forum is just not "cool", now if you happen to be Canadian, well, that's different. LOL

You can't have mine either Eh!

But I'm sure if you do a search of the site, Find the topic and an e-mail addy of someone you've had relations with and can vouch for you, you may have some luck in being sent down the right path. If you have no friends at C-bid yet, It might be a good Idea to make some.

I am aware of the embargo however, as others have said on this forum, Customs is well aware that Cuban cigars are purchased and mailed to the US every day.

There are hundreds of sites that advertise Cuban cigars and then the US shipping price. They even advertise the fact that they ship to the US.

If we can post pictures of our ISOM collections, why can't I ask for someone to e-mail me a vendor to my personal e-mail address?

I have not made any personal friends on this site. I primarily buy cigars and read the forums. I guess all the BOTL stuff everyone talks about only gets a guy so far.

No hard feelings guys...I just think a lot of people on this site make a bigger deal of this than it should be. Happy smoking.

jrc9414 --- maybe you don't realize that people are getting their cigars confiscated every day, just because customs is aware that contraband cigars are being shipped to the USA ... and many of these government agencies get their info on these (and all) cigar fourms. It is a big deal ... and posting pictures is a far cry from asking for sites.

What you also probably don't realize, is that it is not against the law for other countries to send to the USA, it is against the law for thsoe in the US to buy them.

They bust the buyer ... not the seller.

I got to thinking about your statement, " I guess all the BOTL stuff everyone talks about only gets a guy so far."

Personally, a true BOTL will share with the 'naive and uninformed' what is really at stake when you venture into these types of deals.

Not only there is it breaking the law when US funds are used when 'trading with the enemy' ... those sorces DO dry up quickly when they are freely spread across the internet ...

jim: the BOTL stuff *is* very much alive and kicking. but until you've hung out a bit and people have gotten the chance to get to know you, it really is a lot to expect for them to hand over something like that.

if you had a good, reasonable and reliable source, and you hadn't been busted for buying from them, would YOU give it to someone who just appeared in the forum one day and asked for it? i mean, not making accusations, but think about it for a minute -- you could be ANYONE. you could be a custom's agent harvesting the names of companies to flag for inspection when a box of theirs comes into the US, ya know?

and there's just the principle of the thing -- if someone came onto a forum and said out of the blue "hey, one of you BOTLs out there, send me a rolex watch!" and if no one ponied it up, would it be accurate to then say "well, guess that BOTL thing is a myth after all"?

well, consider this -- a good source is more valuable to many BOTLs than a rolex watch is. ๐Ÿ™‚

not trying to bust your chops; just trying to put it in perspective.

and btw, no, i don't have any sources. i'm way too new to all this, and such things come with earned trust, and that takes time.

FYI johnfs --- Spain is one of the most, if not THE most, monitored country when it comes to exporting certain items ...

Just one last lil comment before we put this to rest. Many people have spent months and years cultivating a set of places where they can reliably obtain cigars whether they be ISOM or domestic. This information comes from one of two ways either a lot of individual effort or an extensive network of acquaintances. In either case there is work involved.

Now since you have either not had or taken the time to build the network at least show us that you have expended the effort to do the leg work to obtain the information in other ways. It might be a better received if you ask for opinions of vendors (off line of course) you are considering. This would go a long way to showing you have made some effort.

There's a difference between giving away a golden egg every now and then and giving away the goose that laid it. Most of us are happy to share our knowledge and experience but not our best sources (domestic or foreign).

Thanks to the guys who e-mailed me. I appreciate your help.

To clarify, I didn't ask for anyone to post an address on the boards...I left my e-mail address.

I think there are a lot of guys like me who have been customers here for a couple years but rarely post. Most questions are answered very well and I don't feel the need to comment. I am neither a newbie nor "naive and uninformed". I actually received matches this week in my shipment...that should speak volumes.

I also appreciate the guys who may not have agreed with my thread but responded in the appropriate manner.

Thanks again guys and happy smoking.
