I'm going to take a sabatical from the boards.

There is so much dissension and, at times, real hostility, it has become an almost noxious experience.

I understand that people have opinions and want to express them, yet, nothing seems to change.

When I first arrived on these boards, I found an eager bunch of BOTL/SOTL willing to help a "New Jack". For that I am grateful.

I would rather "fix the problem, not the blame", so I will withdraw for a time, and when I return, perhaps things will have settled back to the way it was when I came.

I wish all the best to each and every one of you. (And watch out, because I'll still be bidding, so leave my CI Legends Maroon and Perdomo Fresh Rolled alone)

From 2002 to about 2003, the boards were pretty friendly. There wasn't much fighting or bashing going on. Rick was quietly democrat (insisting that Bush stole the election, Gore really won, etc), others were quietly republican and most got along. Not as many political threads.

Why leave over this? Hell, it does get irritating but I would say that this is one of the better places to discuss the issues. Most of the folks on here are fairly educated and you can have a marginally decent argument. There are those who feel more strongly about their positions, but those folks are everywhere. Just gonna stick your head in the sand, smug in the fact that you are right and need no other opinions? Not me..I may not completely agree with jpotts or Rick or WB or Fuzz, but I will listen to them and/or argue with them. The flip side is that, if I'm not in the mood, I can ignore them the same way they can to me.

Just change the channel... in this case, don't frequent the Misc board. Eh?

Quite frankly, all it would do is open up another slot for someone to apply as a new member of the board and just as soon as they get approved they'll be asking about "cello on or off".
