Re the Masters Contest. Let me say again that in my mind deadeyedick was the real winner. He started the contest with a pick of Mickelson, and had his score closer than I did. But like one other contestant (al'Thor, I think) I did not read all of the original post the 1st time. I saw "contest" and right away replied with Phil. deadeyedick was great to exempt himself from his own contest, and sorta by default, I was the winner. He sent me a *fantastic* group (some A.F. premiums, Torano 1916, Oliva MB, etc). If you NEED to send me another winner's pkg, I won't refuse delivery, but I think that deadeyedick really deserves the bomb.

And on another note, since this posting is already so long already.... One reason I put this pass together is that I went a little overboard on CBid and had too many sticks for my pathetic humidors to hold. Since I had as big a selection of different cigars as I prolly ever would, it seemed like a good time to box up a bunch and send 'em off. Now with people like you putting more than you take, I'm likely to end up with a bigger problem than ever.

Oh well, just have to put some bombs together when the box lands back here...

Ken, 3 months ago, I had a tabletop (100) Humidor. . . . 6 weeks ago, I had a 52 quart rubbermaidador. . . . today (thanks to a gift from my girl), I have a Verona cabinet humidor. . . .
. . . it won't end, just allow the cigar demons to take over your life, it's easier than fighting. . .

As the originator of this pass, you deserve the extra 'gars. . . . . if anything, it'll give you an excuse to start another one!!


Grab Bag: I tried a Flor De Filipinas, which is a small, fat-cigarette sized thing. . . I'm sorry, I've never had anything like this, so I don't know what the correct term for this size is. . . .
. . I must say, I rather enjoyed it. . . It had a smooth, spicy taste, burned & drew very easily. . . didn't end well, a little too acrid. . . wrapper kind of broke apart in my mouth, I was spitting out pieces of wrapper a lot. . . . However, it was definately a decent cigar for the first 75%. . . . don't know the cost, but if it was a decent price, I wouldn't think twice about picking a bunch up. . . great quick & easy smoke. . . Thanks BigPapi for the grabs. . .

I did a little re-org on the boxes. There were cigars in every box and bag. So I went thru the box pass list and put all Box pass cigars in one box. Then all Contest cigars into the other box. Then there is the seperate Grab Bag. I labeled the Box Pass box and re-charged the Humidity units. A couple of the un-celloed cigars have some minor damage on the foot, but still very smokable. I'll get this in the mail in the morning.


So, of course, I replied...

I can't wait. If he gets it out Friday morning, then I should get it Monday or Tuesday...
(you can't see... but I'm doin' the pee-pe dance right now!!!!!!!!!!)

I'm not in this boxpass - but I do enjoy following along vicariously. So.... where'd the box go?

I finally got a few minutes last night to go through the boxes and bags that had arrived!
I was truly overwhelmed with choices, not having much experience and not having seen most of these before. It took a little while to narrow my selection of over a dozen, down to five… It wasn’t easy.

I, being the anal individual that I am, have been tracking the puts and takes. I have now adjusted the sheets and reprinted them. (The old sheets are going in the envelope too)

I have also listed all the ones in the Contest Box on another sheet as well. (Figuring out what each one was, was fun) That is now included in the package. I was having trouble letting that Torano Reserve go back in, but it’s there (sob, Goodbye little guy.)

Bad news though gang, we have a problem developing...
I had a hard time fitting all of the Boxpass cigars into the Boxpass Box! (he, he, he) Good luck to the rest of you guys! I din’t get a chance to seal it up and prep it for the wife, so it’s stuck here one more day. I’ll have the wife go to the USPS tomorrow morning (with a few other overdue packages) and ship it.


That means a Monday arrival in sunny Miami!!!
