For those who may not be aware, In Havana, keep in mind ... that Cohiba's sell for $200 to $400 per box. In Europe, they sell anywhere from $250 to $600 a box. The price can be even higher in the U.S., because as we all know, Cuban cigars are not legally available ... and that can be an incentive to jack up the price for those dealers in other countries that are not reputable.

From everything that I have read, and those 'in the know' that I've talked with,, Cohibas come only in plain varnished boxes, the individual cigars are never in cellophane, and those being sold in 'glass top' boxes or in glass tubes ... are not the real deal.

Below is a linkd to the band (new style) on the Genuine Article (for reference) ...

Is it inconceivable to think that somebody just might put real Cohibas into a glass tube for protection from the elements? Say... in an environment that has high or low humidity?

I went to Mazatlan last month and prior to going down there printed out a dozen or so pages from the very same site you posted. I got a box of 20 Cohibas in a slide top box with seal and the ever present "habanos" sticker. They were very real. I also bought a few single sticks in a different store that were also very real and happened to be in glass tubes.

MACS(SW)--- don't be naive. If you bought Cohibas that were sold to you in glass tubes, especially in Mexico ... you were duped. The genuine articles are never sold in glass tubes.

Why anybody would put a Cohiba in a glass tube, is beyond me ... but if you look closely, the band is not 'genuine' either ...

hdking --- I'm glad you see it for what it is ... a conversation piece. I wouldn't mind having one around ... just for that purpose.

Slim, to believe that I could be duped so easily is kinda arrogant if you ask me. I may not know nearly as much as you, but I do know a Cohiba when I smoke one. It's my favorite cigar.

I wasn't disputing the authenticity of hd's smoke. I was merely stating that it is quite possible to find one in a glass tube. In fact, bassdude has one in a glass tube because I put a Robusto from a box I bought IN a glass tube before I shipped it...

That was my point. It is possible.
