LOL....I just talked to RD....LOL...man he is busy!! All boxes went out Wednesday, he is going to call me later with the DC #'s. Seth I will email it to you at that time. Rd has been at a sales conference and sounded like one busy guy! When you get a chance to read and catch up RD, I appreciate you taking care of business even during the busy times!!

I am not part of this boxpass but if I was and noticed a member not posting any plays and sending the box along would raise red flags with me..

Just my .02. I am enjoying this one from the sideline...

Here's a few more tips (but Dave makes the calls):

Do not send the box until you have heard from the next recipient that he is ready. Then email him the DC and insurance #. Also, it is everyone's duty to check the plays and make sure they line up. It is VERY helpful to post your plays like this:

Take.............Put

Every stick that you take should be matched with one equal or greater in value.

But again, this is just a suggestion to help things go well and to protect this box - it's Dave's box so he makes the calls, just offering some tips from other successful and not-so-successful passes....

Thanks guys for the suggestions. We actually have already covered that (via email) and will be posting takes and puts in that fashion. Also as I was saying above, RD is very busy, and I think made the right call in this particular case to send it along first, due to a long delay if he waited. I am sure he'll post his plays, from what I saw of his plays on the "newbie" pass I am sure it will be fine. If not I will take care of it.

What a week. I've never participated in a box pass before and I received one Saturday and one Monday.

I coach my son's little league team and we had games Monday and Tuesday evening, plus his first swim team practice was Tuesday afternoon. I left home before the post office opened Wednesday for a conference in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. My wife searched online for a post office that was on my route so I could get the boxes in the mail without them spending the day in my truck.

I got them on their way - then headed to the golf course. I caught up with my foursome on the first fairway. My warm-up was our second shot on the first hole. (We were playing a scramble.)

Between golf (a scramble in Destin Wednesday and 18 holes in Panama City Thursday - hey, somebody's got to do it) and meetings, I was at it from 6 a.m. to midnight.

I'm sorry if I scared anyone, but at least I got the box turned around and on its way quickly. I'm glad to see Seth got it today.

I listed the average per stick price using box prices from CI and one other site (I buy boxes and Aristoffs aren't available on CI). It's impressive to me the quality of cigar you can get in the $3-$5 range, which is where I like to stay.

I have never smoked any of the "takes," so these will all be new. My "puts" are all favorite smokes that I regularly buy by the box. At the risk of running up the prices, I hope someone enjoys them as much as I do.

Now I'm off to the bank before they close.

I added the prices because when I see cigars listed I always wonder what price range they're in and where people buy them. Like I said earlier, I've found a lot of smokes I like in the -$5 range and I probably won't try many that I know are +$10 sticks.

I also liked adding the prices, although, it did take some research to find everything. . . .

. . . I need to make a correction, the box is headed to cigarsmokin next (not cigartasting). . . .

There needs to be some tweaking with Seth Gekko's plays, and IMO, the pricing for the individual cigars is a bad idea and has already been mis-quoted.

I do not intend with this to start any beef, cause I know how hard it is to make plays, with a huge box in front of you.......however, A boxpass should be first-and-foremost a chance to spoil the host. Not necessarily "putting" more than you "take", but maybe a little reward for putting the pass together and for such great organization.

First off, the only Perdomo that can take a PAM.....is a Perdomo Edicion de Silvio.

Secondly, the Paul Garmirian is much more expensive than posted......and many of the "puts" are cheaper than posted.


Like I said, I hope I have not stepped on toes. I just really want to see Dave happy with his first boxpass.
