I have the Xicar scissors.........they are ok. I have two different types of scissors. At this point, I am gonna say that the regular cutters are best because they clamp down at top and bottom, whereas the scissors, come from a closer angle. The pressure on the cigar is different.

I vary what I use, but narrowed it down to a Xikar, Xikar scissors and a SAK.

Of the scissors, I think I get a better cut from the Xikar because it has the finger holes and I can get a better grip and more control. The SAK is very sharp and also makes a good cut, but the way you have to grip it is kinda awkward. I guess I just have to get used to it. The SAK I have is the Slimline Cigar cutter... eaiser to carry, thinner w/o the extra stuff.

Thanks cayman2b ... you make my 'job' a lot easier ... LOL!

My pick ... Swiss Army Knife (SAK) ... I have an assortment of about a dozen or more of every top brand, and it's the one I use the most ...

... it never fails.

just got a Xikar cutter for my B-Day last month and i can never get the damn thing to cut straight, every cap is cut to one side or the other. I think it just will take a bit to get it under my control.

the $2.00 guillotines have worked flawlessly for me. Don't prefer the double blades, they squeeze the cap instead of slice the cap.

Got me a V-cutter from my local shop. It's made of oak and surgical grade stainless steel. $30 bucks. I love that thing... Of course it don't do me much good if I am smokin' a torp or beli... got a double guillo' for them. I think it was about $10 or so and it hasn't given me any trouble...

MACS(SW) --- I have used my teakwood V-cutter many times on 'torps' and 'beli' ... and have had great results.

The V-cut actually makes for a greater surface area on the cut, and still leaves the original shape of the cigar.

It makes for a stronger, more concentrated smoke ... but works well for those milder cigars that need that extra 'punch' ...

I'm still trying to make up my mind which is my favorite. I have an SAK, and just got my Xikar, and I luv 'em both, buty if I'm out and about, the SAK has alot more utility than just cutting cigars, which it does quite well! The Xicar is about to get stashed in my humi, so it will always be where I cut many, if not most of my cheroots!
