After buying 8 desktop humidors, I finally moved into the big leagues. My father and I built this together in about 1 week. Took a couple of days to season and it's steady at 70/73 courtesy of a Cigar Oasis. It didn't take me very long to stock it. Hope you guys like it.230489.jpg

What a beauty! Looks wonderful. What kind of wood did you use? Did you design it yourself?

Beautiful piece, f'sure.

Just curious about one thing: are the glass doors sliding? If so, did you have to worry about sealing the humidor?

Impressive....most impressive.

Thats just about what I envision in the "humi" spot in my living room...

Taking orders 🙂

Thanks for the compliments. I designed the piece after looking at all the liquor bottles I had. I figured, let me put the two things I like together. I used maplewood for the exterior and all spanish cedar in the humidor. Can't believe how expensive that cedar is. As for as the sliding doors, no sealing issues that I'm aware of. It stays at 70% r/h all the time. When I open the door to get a cigar out...the cigar oasis kicks in to bring the humidity back up to 70. Schmitty, thanks for the huggies comment..didn't even realize it was there...funny you mentioned that because there are two boxes there...A Tivo to record the shows I'm missing when I'm changing the Huggies.

Beatdragon, we used a silicone gel to seal up the seams and corners where the cedar met. The gel doesn't smell or give off any vapors. I was worried at first that the seal would be a bit shaky but no problems.

Great cabinet... couple of questions

1) Are those sliding glass doors and if so how do you keep a seal

2) Looks like you have a box of FDMs from that "other" place right there in the center... been eyeing them for a while... what's your take on them

JGJAM, how's it going? The answer to your questions are, yes they are sliding doors and to keep the seal I really didn't do much. I just made sure that the doors were close to each other, by this I mean the middle where the doors overlap when closed. There isn't any give when the doors are closed, they don't shift back and forth when I slide them open or closed. When I went to have the glass doors custom cut, I took a sample of track that they sit on. They made sure that they chose glass that would fit the width of the track. They did an awesome job cutting the doors to size and boring the holes where I put the knobs. The three most expensives things that went into making the humidor were the spanish cedar, glass doors, and the cigar oasis humidifier.

oh, as far as the FMD's are conserned...great smoke. Burns even, nice tight ash, and beautiful oily wrapper. Bought the box for 60 bucks and they through in a FMD humidor...couldn't beat the deal.

I noticed the huggies. And the piece of paper in with the booze, which I imagined is a note from the wife to quit drinking and smoking ;-P
