I see this the newbie thread is still active. There was a point where it was getting very hard to recruit veterans. Most of them had been through multiple newbies and were a bit burnt out. Our pool on Cbid is not as deep as other places. Now I’ll run this thread if some veterans want it revived or if we seem to be acquiring a new pool of veterans.

As a general rule I never personally recruited veterans but just sent out a thread inquiry. So here is the deal I will run the thread if I can get 8 veterans. Contact me at david dot henseler at Cingular dot com if your interested.

This applies for new to the board or new to gars. You do not have to have a stash to participate a lot of FOGs are quite happy to send you off to purchase your part of the trade.

There are a number of very active traders out there that for one reason or another have never had a go round as a veteran in the newbie thread. You have very active and stellar reputations (you know who you are).

Being a veteran is not about having a high stick count or having killer smokes. It's about helping newbies enjoy this hobbie and having enough experience to be able to guide them through different taste profiles.

Bassdude is also correct that don't be worried that by trading with a newbie you will end up with dog rockets. Both him and I directed our newbies to buy us what we wanted that way there is no arguement about fairness. I have a very extensive list of vendors I can share off line.

I know that I am new to the boards but I don't consider myself a newbie in terms of smokin. Been smokin since the early 90's. I have a pretty good stash of cigars and would love to help out a newbie, if that would be acceptable.

I by no means consider myself a veteran, nor would I even think of comparing my BOTL status to some of the Super BOTL's on the boards. Just wanna do what I can for the cause.

let me jump in here -- hensed, if you want an offline recommendation, i'd be happy to send that as well. but i'd like to state publically that goody is an OUTSTANDING trader and BOTL. i've had the honor of trading with him, and the bro just blew me away.

any noob would be very lucky to be taken under this brother's wing. he's an all-around Good Guy(tm), and i would highly recommend that he be allowed to participate as a veteran. don't listen to that modest "wouldn't call myself a vet" nonsense of his, either -- he's forgotten more about cigars than some will ever know! 🙂

Would 100% stand up for Goody. Have done trades and he has sent the troops gars for us. Great guy and stand up trader. I am sort of a newbie too but would be a pleasure to be partnered with goody as a vet if I was new here (again). just my .02 cents.

Would love to be involved in this as a Vet if you need. Your call there Hensed.

I'll vouch for Goody. He didn't know me from Adam & sent me a nice care package with some top-notch smokes. He did this just to introduce himself. I don't believe you will be sorry if you trust him, even if he did work for the blue cube at one time. I hope God will forgive me for vouching for him :^)
