Nice mess 'o cats. We found out a few years ago that we could nail them all day by drifting walleye spinners at the mid-depths, as opposed to dead-fishing bottom. The suspended fish are very aggressive and will slam a live bait on a walleye rig.

Hush puppies go better with fried catfish! Some coleslaw and an ice cold beer or two!

me and a few buddies fished lake oahe in s.d. a few yrs ago, and did nuthin but catch walleys and cats all wkend.
when the fish fries at days end were happening, some of the guys were choosing the cats over walleys!!!.

Nice batch of catfish Bassdude.
An alternate way to prepare catfish, besides frying, is to grill the fillets.
Take your filets, and marinate them for at least an hour, n a tart margarita mix. Over a medium hot fire, brush the grill with a light coating of oil and place the filets on the grill. Lightly dust the fish with creole seasonings, and cook until the fish starts to flake, when you gently rake across it with a fork.
Enjoy

P.S. if you use pam on the grill make sure it is off the flame when spraying.

Anyone have good ideas on cooking these up? I always just clean em and fry em. The effort of eating the meat off of the skeleton offsets the taste and just not worth it for me. I'm open for ideas.
