box arrived today. it looked rather rough, though. something had been spilled on it or in it so that it was stained on one end with a pungent odor coming from the card board (inside box was safe.....a little
"rattled", but safe. humidity was 68% rhj when it left here. i checked it with my two digitals and it checked 68%. but the hygrometer inside the box is inaccurate. it read 80%......inside the box and outside the box. i put the outer container outside to air it out some.then, i repacked and sent it on it's way, as i depart tomorrow a.m. for the coast. my puts and takes are as follows:

hope these plays are o.k., but i did not have time to wait until everybody gave approval before i shipped it. if i had waited, it would've had to make another trip with me to the coast, most likely "rattling" it further. so, i went ahead and hope that these plays were o.k. e-mail sent to kevin w/dc#. have fun and enjoy....

Thanks for the update delta. Nice puts and takes. Thanks for the host bag too, the troops will be greatfull.

It seems like the box has seen some rough times during transit. Sounds like the sticks are OK but don't count on the enclosed humidity reading. It seems the hydrometer has been compromised. Maybe just chuck it away on the next stop (Kdoline) I'll send out another to the following stop (gonesledn) It'll hit the mail USPS priority on Fri 11/26.

If I'm right, Kdotline is up next. Let me know how the box looks.

kevin, wes, if we can, it'd be great to hook up with you guys on saturday, the 4th some where near the border. we can replace the box then. theres a couple nice stogie shops near madison. lemme know.

the box probly wouldn't make it to me much earlier, so we won't be holdin anything up.

I hope you all had a happy and safe Thanksgiving. I know I sure did.

Today I'll be sending out a package to Wes (gonesledn) to support the box. In the package will be a replacement hydrometer and a new credo. The new credo will have gel crystals rather than the foam. Hopefully the gel will hold up better in transit than the foam seemed to do.

Just a couple reminders. Don't add fluids to the credo unless absolutely necessary. As long as the tuper is reasonably sealed, the humidity should hold fine without further additions.

Also take some extra care when repackaging both the tuper and the shipping box. These babies are on quite a journey and will probably see some tough handling especially this time of year when the shipping volume increases during the holidays. Use enough packaging material so they don't rattle around but not so much as to crush the contents.

The pass is moving along nicely and we're over half way done. Thanks for everyone's participation and help along the way. Smoke 'em if you got 'em.

hey kdot, let me know when you get the box, i am guessing you cant be more than 45 minutes to an hour away. so we should have no problems doing a hand off.

Glad it made it there safe. Boy that didn't take long at all. I dropped it off Sat and you got it today!

As for the bomb, it was nothing big. I just couldn't pass up the chance for a triple whammy on my fellow midwesterners.

still waiting--patience grasshopper--post office has gotten really slow here. I hope this doesn't take as long as my graycliff sampler--still waiting for that one!! wish the PO provided tracking info on the packages. looking forward to meeting up with gonesledn for the handpass.
