Is that a good reason to excuse his actions? "They do it to me!"

Before I go any further I need to preface my comments. I bleed Green and Gold so my bias is obvious. I think the Vikes are public enemy #1 and Moss is at the top of the list. The Pack laid an egg and didn't deserve to win this game along with a handful of others this year. The loss falls squarely on their doorstep.

OK back to the rant. According to Dungy, this is a ritual for GB fans. Don't know if it's true or not but I haven't heard of this until now. If it was true (not calling Dungy a liar, I do respect the guy) but wouldn't Moss at least have commented on this after all the hub-bub? Or another coach, player, NFL personnel somewhere in the league? Isn’t Dungy is the same person who found the Monday night football intro (desperate house wives thingy) disgraceful and racially insensitive? But he found this funny? He can’t allow his kids to see the naked back of a woman jumping into the arms of a football player but no problem with letting them see one pretend to moon the crowd as a celebration? Losing a bit of credibility here Tony.

Second, lets say Tony is right. Does this then justify Moss to get back at them with their own medicine? If we follow that logic then baseball players should be allowed to throw batteries into the crowd at (where was it) Mets games? Are we trying to say that drunk fans mooning a bus after the game in the parking lot is no worse than pretending to moon the fans on national TV. A little different I’d say. Now if Randy mooned them after the game, in the parking lot that’s a different cup of tea.

Sorry to sound Rick-esk (just kidding Mr. Maven) but that’s my take. Now there are more important things I need to get to. Cello on or cello off? What’s with all the overbidders?

Bucky, In my opinion, yes it is appropriate to fake a moon on national tv in answer to the GB fans mooning the visiting bus as it leaves the parking lot. Again, I'm no fan of Randy Moss but this is a non incident in my opinion.

As someone who's not a sports fan (I've never seen a complete football game in my life, only one baseball game, and only a couple of complete basketball games) I'd like to give you another perspective.

The Randy Moss story didn't make the national news in isolation. Parents across the USA - both liberal and conservative - are concerned with the ever coarsening of American culture, especially broadcast TV. There was a time when parents could sit down with their kids and watch a TV program without worrying about how to explain it to their kids, never mind the commercials. Now, I'm trying to figure out how to explain Levitra and Viagria ads to a 10-year old.

I say all this to make a point: The Dale Moss story is a story because people are concerned that, next time, there might be a real mooning during a live NFL game.

Explain WHAT to the kids? Let's not forget that all he did was bend down, stick his heiny out for a bit, then walk away. 8 seconds. No nudity.

Countries in Europe have nudity in every day commercials. Are their minds warped? Has their world been taken over by the "devil"?

I'd say, culturally/socially, they're better off than us. Us, we freak out over a COVERED nipple being shown on TV for 2 seconds. 2 SECONDS.

as for packer fans mooning team busses, i never heard of this. i'v lived in wi. for 39 yrs, been to 15 games at lambeau, followed the pack for 25 yrs, and know many season ticket holders.

I can say I've had it up to here with Moss debate. So much of this outrage seems so disingenious that it borders on silly. If the fickle Joe Buck, in his completely uninformed typical fashion, had not feigned outrage at his endzone celebration many people would have simply laughed it off.

Why is Joe Buck a complete idiot, along with the FOX crew? More on that buffoon in a minute. Everyone at Fox picked the Vikings to get trounced, and there they sat. Much egg on face. Thank God Randy Moss could save the day and let them focus on something other than their own vitriol hatred of the Vikings and their transparent worship of Favre and the terminally untalented Packers.

What should you know about the Moss incident? What should you know about who is a classless lot? The truth is, the Packers fans are the classless lot who started the whole mess. The whole tradition. Leave it to the drunk, cousin-hunting hillbillies to invent such a tradition: after every visit to Lambeau in which the Vikings lose, Packer fans line up outside the team bus and moon the team.

So, Moss had some fun with the fans. They understood, he understood. Joe Buck should go back to baseball and something he understands. Usually commentators are picked for their neutrality in games, but as usual with the Pack they simply can't do so. They must move every game to insure sufficient spotlight of the beam of faded glory always shines on FOX posterboy Brett Favre. This from the NETWORK which features the most classless programming that is slammed down the public's throats everyday which is FOX. I am regularly ashamed of FOX and the programming they produce as a very sad commentary on feeding off the lowest common denominator in society while simultaneously shrugging off standards and ethics. Ergo, I am less than surprised they found something to blow up and keep the media buzzing for the week.

Shine on, Moss, and the Vikings. It's beautiful to know the truth and see that the reflection each of those Packer fans saw on Randy's uniformed butt was their own reflection.

fox's saving grace are the simpsons and arrested development, both shows blatantly ripping apart their aforementioned network. have you seen any interviews with david cross, writer for arrested development? he basically condemns the network and all of it's evil, including the "fair and balanced" fox news...no more mention of fox news is necessary
