AMEN Hup!! Great post.. wraps up a democrat rather well. If it was up to them.. we would just sit around and think about everything untill another building blows up and 40,000 people are killed.
Democrat: Now jonny.. dont play around my humidor
Democrat: Jonny.. i told you.. dont play around my humidor..
Democrat: CRASH.. awww jonny.. you ruined my humidor
Democrat: ...aww its ok.. lets think about how we can avoid this from happening again
Republican: Jonny... dont play around my humidor
Republican: WHACK!!.. JONNY..I SAID.. No playing around the humidor..
Republican: puff puff.. sits back, ejoys a good smoke and reflects how glad he is that he took care of the situation and still has a nice humidor!
Thought without action is like cigar that wont burn.. it looks the part... smells the part, but is basically worthless!
Is this to negitive... do we need some kitties and a couple rainbows?

I've always found this mindset strange. I work in process excellence... and my job is to take a problem, which is an output of something else, drive to the TRUE root cause of the problem and then eliminate the true root cause to resolve the output. The output is always the thing you see, but not the problem itself. I see ‘modern’ democrats solving for the perceived problem, but not addressing the true root cause.

Gun violence… so we solve this by outlawing guns? Does that solve for the true root cause or does it solve for the perceived problem? My own opinion, but I’d say that most gun violence is caused by the destruction of the family unit. Let’s debate what’s causing the destruction of the family and not create more gun laws.

Unwanted babies… so we solve this by legalizing abortion? Does this solve for the true root cause or does it solve for the perceived problem? My own opinion, but I’d say that most abortions are caused by people not ready to take responsibility for their decisions. Let’s debate how we can make people understand that every decision has consequences, and how to deal with these consequences.

I could go on and on. I’m not saying that Republicans are the shining example of how to solve for true root cause, but I see less knee jerk reactions from them. I’m also not saying that every gun death is caused by the destruction of the family unit or that every abortion is a irresponsible decision. What I’m saying is you solve for the largest buckets first.

well, you see, sylance, that's called logic. liberals HATE logic. i think they've got a bill in house right now to ban all use of logic. why? because logic isn't fair!

EXACTLY..."LIBERALS HATE LOGIC" Great response. And i love the comment about parents. It seems the Liberals/democrats/John kerry(uggg john kerry... who is that? lol) NEVER want to get down to the root of the problem. Same as i mentioned above. I dont get it. The sad thing is we have a generation of parents that are rasing children in this manner. That is scary!! Its like the whole liberal nation spends their life going around trying to put out fires, rather then trying to prevent them.
* a child gets shot.... blame someone rather than teach our children
* world trade towers... blame the goverment.. rather than the terrorist
*Your SUV flipped over.. blame the auto manufacture, rather than SLOW THE F DOWN"
*Daughter gets pregenent... blame someone rather than teach your kids some moral values
And the list goes on and on!!
Democrat: Give a man a fish.. then figure out how we can tax the sh*t out of everyone that made something of themselves so we can give more fish away
Republican: TEACH a man how to fish, and he will never go hungry!!

A piece from Rene Decartes Meditations concerning the 'Cogito Ergo Sum'

I Had long since remarked that in matters of conduct it is necessary sometimes to follow opinions known to be uncertain, as if they were not subject to doubt; but, because now I was desirous to devote myself to the search after truth, I considered that I must do just the contrary, and reject as absolutely false every-thing concerning which I could imagine the least doubt to exist.

Thus, because our senses sometimes deceive us, I would suppose that nothing is such as they make us to imagine it; and because I was as likely to err as another in reasoning, I rejected as false all the reasons which I had formerly accepted as demonstrative; and finally, considering that all the thoughts we have when awake can come to us also when we sleep without any of them being true, I resolved to feign that everything which had ever entered my mind was no more truth than the illusion of my dreams.

But I observed that, while I was thus resolved to feign that everything was false, I who thought must of necessity be somewhat; and remarking this truth--I think, therefore I am--was so firm and so assured that all the most extravagant suppositions of the sceptics were unable to shake it, I judged that I could unhesitatingly accept it as the first principle of the philosophy I was seeking. I could feign that there was no world, I could not feign that I did not exist. And I judged that I might take it as a general rule that the things which we conceive very clearly and very distinctly are all true, and that the only difficulty lies in the way of discerning which those things are that we conceive distinctly.

Decartes formula was meant to be a proof for the existence of God and creation, not for the proof that the Democrates are the better political party: )

"My own opinion, but I’d say that most gun violence is caused by the destruction of the family unit. Let’s debate what’s causing the destruction of the family and not create more gun laws."

way to vague to be the root cause. you are using reverse logic anyway.
1. i don't like gun laws, therefore i must find a reason to prevent more.
2. current hot subject "family values" so it must be the destruction of the "family unit" that is causing gun violence.

first of all what are "family values?" is it your family? is it my neighbor's family? or is it what the
"leader" and the newt's family values are defined as. as i recall newt is on his third wife having divorced his first wife while she was dying of cancer, and he is a spokesman for "family values."

in the first place, if guns didn't exist, people would still murder, they would use knives, or a big rock. the only real ourpose of gun laws, as i see it is to keep guns out of the hands of the bad guys. the bad guys will get them anyway, they are after all bad guys, so i am not sure what the advantage of gun laws are.

we live in a violent society. some countries are not violent. the root problem is buried somewhere
in the type of society we have developed and that is deeper then the quick answer "family unit."

the question to ask is why is our society so much more violent then other societies. i don't
remember hearing much about violent portugal, or violent canada, or violent sierra leone.

i'll deal with abortion at a later time if you want me to.

it has to be 100k in order to get accepted by cbid.

i wonder why sometimes the picture is so big, that it stretches out the thread. i'll ask someone at cbid about dimensions.

All I know is that I an NOT republican .... I am pro choice ..... but yet I am not against guns (But i see no need for semi automatic weapons in a home) I think all this family value crap has gone over the edge so that no one talks about sex to their kids but then they want it so that if they get pregnant they have to tell their parents. But it they tell them then they have no values because they got pregnant ... so they have babies and put them in the garbage ..... hmmm thats my opinion ...... So I sum this up by saying ... Opinions are like a$$ holes ... everyone has one ...... 🙂

Whether you are pro-choice or pro-life and whether you are "for" or "against" guns has nothing in the world to do with being a Republican ... or, a Democrat ...
