Crikey. Those critters are freaky. They are not afraid. He just locked his gaze on me and stared me down. He seemed to be saying, "Yep. I am here. And I am not leaving. I can play this game all night if you want. See these beady little eyes behind my bandito mask? Yep, xray super night vision...and it's getting darker by the minute. You wannta piece of me? How do you like your chances, punk?"

I backed down.

I am telling you....this guy had ZERO fear in his eyes.

I figure if he is showing his furry face around here, he has to be chasing food or tail. I don't see any sign of either around here.

The little bastid is terrorizing me.

Racoons can fall 35 - 40 feet and not get hurt.

I think it was Ram... Ram and Racoon have some of the same letters so it must be him... and the description sounds dead on....

I've spent a lot of time around tame raccoons and they are truly amazing on what they can do and get into.

I was in a 4 story apartment building when a coon walked in off the balcony & peered into my living room where I was watching tv. He had apparently climbed up the brick lattice work to get to my balcony. I chased him backed to the open door & doused him with a bucket of water before he disappeared down the side of the building again. It's a miracle he didn't fall.

Be careful though, a friend had an overly friendly one approach her at her country home. She wacked him with a stick & covered him with her "welcome" mat. LOL When the county showed up the critter was just coming to & it was determined that he was rabid.

A coon used to live under my house. He worked for the railroad and was fond of making fermented squeezings. We used to smoke together but he couldn't be trusted around anything valuable. I chased him away one night with a flashlight and haven't seen him since.

A family of them moved in next door to us. They're especially randy beasts and when they go at it, there's enough screeching and screaming to wake the dead. Really blood-curdling noise.

I know what you mean Magwitch. I don't think anyone next door had any sort of job though. They're mostly nocturnal except for the rabid ones.

Used to have a young coon that hung around my house and ate cat food. It was fine until one night my elderly female cat decided she didn't want it eating her food and KICKED ITS AZZ!!! Poor coon never knew what hit it!!! LOL! Never came back.

Yikes. So, since I see this one climbing around our building during the daytime...does that mean it is rabid?
