Aside: please not the gorgeous folding knife--a gift from the oh-so-generous Gene363.
Thank you, Gene!

I hate those little bastids. Good Job. You should get a trophy for a 100% kill rate.

Nice knife!!

I almost bought one just like it, if you're ever in France eating cheese, you can't be caught dead without one.

Nice kill ratio as well. Way to feed the family.

12 posts in and it hasn't been said and I sit here wondering if I'm just a germ freak BUT... OCD or not... I never put my cigar that close to a dead animal unless im dumping a dead hooker in a lake.

That's the troubel with our society these days ... oh ... bring out the hand disinfectant.

That is why so many of us (and our children) get everything under the sun.

When I was growing up ... my folks let us play in the mud and eat bugs ... and we grew up the healthiest kids and hardly ever got sick.

Our bodies will build up imunities to all sorts of pathogens ... if we allow it to do so.

Slim makes a valid point which I agree with. I placed the cigar where I did in this pic with the specific idea that it might stir some controversy--but I have noted that we often eat dead animals, so having a cigar nearby one of them seems less risky to me.
I hate gopher.

ZRX, no fishing for me this year, but we were given several 'springers' from the Klamath. These spring-run salmon are top of the heap full of oils and flavor and they eat/smoke to make kings and Warren Buffet cry for more. It is something you will never see in the market.

Back to gophers and germs and disease!

Oh, and I thank Gene (363) for the knife once again. While I find it is a bit large to ride comfortably in my pocket, the up-side is that I keep it on my make-shift garage desk where I can see--and admire--it many times each day.

Thank you!

Big Chief, you are quite welcome. I am really happy you are enjoying the knife.

Do you bait those traps? When we lived in the San Gabriel mountains in CA we used to get a lot of mice and pack rats. They tried to take up residence in our house and garage. Crunchy peanut butter was great. Some butter around a chunk of nut fastened to the set. When those big teeth hit that it was over.
