"TEAR DOWN THE F***ING POOL. Think of all the spare time you'll get back to smoke."

Now that I think about it, a pool wouldn't be so bad...I live in an apartment with no lawn or pool and getting outside to smoke is sometimes a hassle when the wifey either wants chores done or to just talk. If I had a lawn or a pool I would use them as an excuse to be outside, cigar alight and relax while "fixing" the pool. Plus, I forgot how relaxing it was to sit on a floating device in the pool...it has to be even better with a cigar in hand

Bought my first house in 1989(I still live in it). One day being the big bad bachelor I was then, decided to put a pool in because I have a huge backyard and everyone said "put in a pool it will be great fun". At the time, a pool was only $8,500(for a really nice pool). As i was about to sign the paper work and start tearing up my back yard, GOD struck me on the head and said "are you crazy"? I told the pool salesguy to leave and was sorry for backing out!

At one point, felt bad for my kids that we did not have a pool and almost bought a "white trash pool" and again, Lightening struck and I fell down and said "ok....I get it!

Today, I am married with a bunch of kids and NO POOL! We live in world famous Daytona Beach for gosh sakes and can go to the beach whenever we want!

As you said, I realize that I would be the one cleaning and paying for the upkeep! Man! I am proud of my self for seeing the light on that one!

BLOW IT UP! GET A TOY'S R US KIDDY POOL! You could bury it and make a cool gold fish pond!

You need to go to Alanon and learn to STOP ENABLING your daughter.

Disengage yourself from the "pain" of her disease.

Get rid of the DAMN POOL and get your life back ... otherwise stopyerbellyaching, get yerself some KY, and adopt another daughter.

:)

Sounds like someone has daddy wrapped around her little finger, and it also sounds like daddy kinda likes it that way. You may hate the pool but look at how happy it made your daughter.

Now tear the damn thing down and tell it collapsed.

Destroy It! Kid'd be safer in a little plastic pool till he/she's old enough to go to a big pool.

Years ago, I bought a home with an in-ground pool. I was single and the pool was a place where all my friends and their friends wanted to gather. I loved the pool, when I had a chance to actually swim in it. Usually, time with the pool was spent cleaning it.

I'm planning on buying a Florida winter condo. There better be a pool and a service to clean it.
