My friend who has one loves it!

But buy used! Too many people buy them and turn them into an expensive coat rack!

Buying used is a great idea. Do you live in an area with 2nd Wind - it's a used exercise equipment store.

Yup. Eating carrot sticks and burning 4000 calories a day will do that for ya.

Hot man...hot!

12 oz at a time and if you get Can's you can smash them, burning off more colaries and cash them in for another case!

Bowflex.. it will make a nice coathanger..

Listen to Hog.

He's got the most developed fingers in the business! LOL!

THL, you may want to check out the Health Rider as well.

It's an exer- cycle which uses your body weight to give you a total workout.

It is also cheaper (new), puts less stress on your joints/back, & produces quick results.

But like anything else, requires dedication & discipline.

Good luck, amigo.

I've heard people that use those machines do something called "sweating".

This "sweating" thing sounds awfully dangerous.

Check out the Goodwills and local thrift stores.

The one around my way have loads and loads of excersize equipment.

This means that you should:

A) go there and get a good deal

B) not bother because most people just give up on it

C) use the money meant for the Bowflex for more cigars

I have a SoloFlex.....which is a similar sweating machine.

I've seen the Bowflex commercials and would say it would work as good if not better for MY needs.....which are to have something to stack **** upon.

It seems that the used ones sell for almost as much as the new ones. That tells me that they must be pretty well made and that I'll be able to to sell it after I've lost interest.

Bloody, we have a Health Rider and it bores me to tears. The Bowflex appeals to me because it's so similar to free weights, which I used in my youth.

Gotta do something, I'm turning into quite a fat ****. I used to be so tough, now I'm a glob of goo.

And you know you're getting old when you hurt yourself sleeping.

C'mon...that 50 year old didn't get that body from the Bowflex! She got it from her plastic surgeon! (unless Bowflex is so good that it can erase 50 years of gravity on a woman's breasts - especially ones that large...) LOL

We had one at work, and it got used a LOT. Maybe 30-40 guys regularly. Personally, it didn't have enought weight (resistance) for me. I'm not a huge guy either. Anyway, after a couple months, the rubber coating on the bows started peeling off, cables were losing their plastic coating, pulleys were getting brittle, etc.

Now keep in mind this machine got a LOT of use on a regular basis. It was one of the earlier models, don't remember which one, perhaps they've improved on some of those issues.

Like others have mentioned, look for used if you're really serious about this. Personally, for the price of the bowflex, you could join a decent gym, and not have to worry about anything breaking down, and they usually have some pretty good scenery.
